Marriage turns Vivek Oberoi into a compulsive romantic. HE was quoted saying:
“Priyanka & me are addicted to each other”
“She’s part of life but not my career,” he explains and adds that he respects wife Priyanka Alva’s decision not to pose for photo shoots or give interviews. “I respect her stand. After all, marriage is about being equals,” he asserts.
He didn’t believe it would be so easy to walk away from bachelorhood. “She makes me believe in marriage. We’re addicted to each other. Even sharing the mundane is fun, whether it’s having breakfast, reading poetry or lounging in bed munching popcorn and watching a film.”
Instead of dwelling on his reinvention as a bad boy on screen, he prefers to dwell on his family man status, “My wife has made me so happy that I don’t have the angst to play the bad boy. I’m looking forward to doing comic films,” he smiles. “I’d also like to do a love story.”
“It was her simplicity that took me by surprise. Here was a girl from a blue blooded family (she’s the daughter of Nandini Alva and the late Janata Dal leader Jeevaraj Alva of Bangalore), yet she was so real.
He continues, “In one of our earlier conversations, I asked her what she thought of me being an actor and the whole baggage that came along. She replied, ‘I don’t think about it, it’s just what you do and not who you are’.”
To bring home his state of mind he says, “I’m a very happy man!”
