So there are actually some brands under investigation with the FDA here in the US. I think the common one was Centrum? I have to double check to confirm. Since then I have stopped vitamin supplements and am uneasy about taking the others. Call it paranoia if you will. There were investigations done that showed one of the brands had less than 50% nutrients than were listed on the labels. I think it has been taken off the shelves. I need iron and calcium but have never been able to get into a routine at all with taking supplements and then lost Interest even more after hearing about the investigations. Just try harder to eat iron and calcium enriched foods. Once in a while is okay to makeup for it in the lack of your diet on a day missed but something uneasy for me about being dependent on supplements. However, I am also uninformed about the details on taking them. There’s just so much mixed info it’s confusing.

I have heard that those nutrient shakes are better. They provide those as meal replacements for a lot of seniors in hospitals sometimes and their packed with proteins and such. Our grandmothers doctor said its just as fine for us to drink them as well. Quick option for some extra supplements for the day. I do drink those since they are provided for our grandmother in bulk regularly lol.

^ where did you hear that? can you provide the link and more information?

btw- i always thought centrum vitamins had (animal) gelatin…
