Attitude could be better. He is young and excitable but some of his on-field antics and rude gestures are quite unnecessary (like his over the top reaction after scoring the hundred against Pakistan). Someone needs to tell him to get over his arrogance & brashness soon. Dhoni (who also exploded from the outset) was never like him. He is someone who is always around that calm line.

Agreed that he has to prove himself in Tests. My call is that he will. Needs to be given a prolonged chance. I say this because he is not only a swashbuckling big hitter who doesnt fit in Tests.. like Raina or Yuvraj. Kohli is well rounded, great defence (I remember some awesome defence/counter attacking vs Steyn in IPL and international cricket when everyone around him was clueless against Steyn), has a good temperament and shot selection. I think he will come around in tests, but we’ll see.

I also agree that sometimes his attitude can be a bit much.. way too arrogant sometimes…but I kind of understand where hes coming from.. young guy from Delhi (like me? :P)… has had too much success so early in his life (won the U19 WC as captain, 2011 WC and IPL star for Bangalore)… there were some articles a year ago on how he is realizing his folly and trying to improve. IMO from what I have seen he HAS improved compared to 2 years ago.. but there are still instances of arrogance.

On the other hand I often don’t mind the arrogance by desi players.. just cuz of what Southie mentioned.. the goras get away with too much arrogance and retardedness in the name of intensity. Same reason why Sreesanth didn’t bother me as mch as others.

The fact that he realizes that he needs to control his temper/arrogance and there are small improvements is good enough for me..for now.
