This is what happens when you don’t watch the entire drama and just make a judgement based on few episode. Did u even see where the male who abused his wife ended up in the end??? They *might have said they are using religion as an excuse (I dont remember this excuse being used though) but I m sure they made a point clear that this excuse was not valid and it is NOT Islamic either to abuse wife.

And I do not know a single person who watches these drama and find “that relationship acceptable”. All these dramas has been discussed in the shorsharaba section if gs and you can see what people has said about them.

Who thought it was justified??
Did the male character enjoyed a happily ever life in end or had to pay for what he did??

The use of religion was in Sher Dil ke darwazay - perhaps you ought to read my post again.. my comment/s are a reflection of how i see these dramas… i appreciate you may not see them in that light but that’s precisely my point.. everyone is different and therefore depiciting such voilence can have adverse effect on some of it’s viewers…I will have a look at the shor sharaba posts - perhaps that’ll offer a different light to the topic. My comments are my personal refelction and i genuinely found some of those scenes uncomfortable to watch especially before watershed hours! Eastenders would not get away with it being shown graphically.. my point is you can make a point without it being so in your face… I personally found the treatment of such dramas uncomfortable and like you i know many people who’d share my views..
