Mera saaein is one I am currently watching.. Prior to tht it was sher dil ke darwazay- this drama used religion as a justification.. In both dramas educated women are seen to take regressive roles and although the overall picture we get is tht the perpetrators are bad people.. The way the dramas are conditioned leaves the viewer accepting thts their relationship. I just don’t think tv shud be sending such messages… And tht too, in 2011!! I can’t remember the name of the third one tht was a few weeks bk .. Will check n post.

This is what happens when you don’t watch the entire drama and just make a judgement based on few episode. Did u even see where the male who abused his wife ended up in the end??? They *might have said they are using religion as an excuse (I dont remember this excuse being used though) but I m sure they made a point clear that this excuse was not valid and it is NOT Islamic either to abuse wife.

And I do not know a single person who watches these drama and find “that relationship acceptable”. All these dramas has been discussed in the shorsharaba section if gs and you can see what people has said about them.

Vasl and noor bano also had such scenes … where the male character is presented with almost " justified" reasons to hit his spouse… And again the treatment of those scenes are sympathetic to the perpetrator..
The only drama I have seen where violence is tackled headon is Uraan.

Who thought it was justified??
Did the male character enjoyed a happily ever life in end or had to pay for what he did??
