depending on your answer to that, here’s something that I’ve been using for a while now to upload shorter split videos on youtube - it takes various types of input files (avi, mpg, mp4 etc.) and generates smaller mkv files.

thanks that is good but i would prefer if the output is same as the input..plus it doesnot take wmv files

I use Quicktime pro for such purpose as i like the ease and control, but its a paid version.
