Its a blunder only if there actually is a real video. If the video is fake, PTI, or at least Imran would know it, and that would make it easy for them to deny its authenticity. Shafqat did not deny the possible existence of such a video. But its likely that if there is one, it is either old wine in a new bottle, or a fake digitization, which can easily be detected by millions of techies around the world and in Pakistan.

^ did you read the press release? he said "there are reports that video is being prepared" (means it doesnt exist), and "technology exists to manufacture..." (means if it gets released it will be fake)

i think there was no need to issue this press release. whoever is the finder or creator of this video if they upload it in compressed quality, it will be almost near to impossible whether its real or fake... and specially when people are saying that they have seen the video (even in this thread posters say that someone has shown that video to generalists) at this stage saying that "video is being prepared" is another sentence gone wrong.

now if someone does actually release the video, it will be difficult for him to prove that its fake

If the video is 20 some years old and lets assume for a second that video exists, whether real or manufactured, and its released to the media. What impact will it have on Imran's future as a political figure (if at all).

He has already made a clean break from his past. If his personal deeds did not result in the dismemberment of the country, or in repeated the imposition of martial laws, or in economic crises, or in corruption, or in deterioration of law and order situation, or in the rise of the Taliban, then let the God be the best judge of his past, just as we want it to be in our own cases.

Dont worry. Hassan Nawaz still lives there.He will take them to court and sue them for defamation. They will either ask for their money back, or ask them to ‘produce’ another fake video which looks more real.
