It almost looks like that we have read 2 different versions of Islam .. (those who are talking about shopkeeper doing budtameezi and what not).
Prophet was asked if he wants the mountain to be dropped on Kuffar and he said no, instead he did Dua for them.
Those Kuffars were badmouthing not just prophet but allah (swt).
Prophet also said that love Allah and his prophet more than you love your parents.
Having said that, Shopkeeper and mother example does not qualify when it comes to Islam. You can do whatever you want if your ego is hurt, but dont modify islam's teaching based on your ego please.
