Very Happy Diwali wishes!

Re: Very Happy Diwali wishes!

deep means lamp so deepawali is derived from this root word…when lamps are lit in certain constellation/pattern it’s called ‘Deepawali’

Re: Very Happy Diwali wishes!

Happy Diwali to all my Hindu and Sikh friends!

Hope it brings new friendships across the borders and faiths!

Re: Very Happy Diwali wishes!

:naraz: someone answer my question please!!! now!

yea just ignore me, i mean i know that diwali is greatly celebrated in pakistan too but i would really like to just read experiences of members who have had pak hindu friends…that’s all :stuck_out_tongue: please

Re: Very Happy Diwali wishes!

^ I think Muqqawee (aka Vidura) may have some interesting anecdotes.

Re: Very Happy Diwali wishes!

I know my adopted home state in Pakistan is dotted with Temples and around Dewali the festival is very vibrant you would be forgiven for thinking you were in a mini India.

Seriously i think there is no difference in the celebrations and especially in the Potahar Platue area the Hindus have for a long time enjoyed peace and relative saftey despist being surrounded by Muslims. The Plains people are a lot less violent that my true home nation the Hill tribes and Mountain warriors who have always been trouble makers…

In the flat lands of Punjab Darbaars, Gurdwaras, Mandirs and Masjids lie aplenty and festivals have always been colourfull true in some places people are boxed in and keep things low key due to feuds and stuff but the vast majority get along just fine.

I am hopefull that this is likewise in India too most folk get along fine. The Media always want to stoke bad news to add fuel to the fire… you always hear about some Hindu bashing a Muslim or vice versa… they never tell about when Muslims or Hindus gaurd each others lives and get along like brothers.

Haha my guide in the chakwal area was once a Hindu chap. He showed me the Kastraj temple happily and I learned much about how our people have had good relations too.

Re: Very Happy Diwali wishes!

In Islam, we are encouraged to adopt new and modern technology and there is nothing wrong with that.

But for a muslim to congratulate the hindus on diwali, means congratulating someone on worshipping idols. If that is the case then congratulating hindus on diwali is as bad as congratulating someone on drinking alcohol, fornicating or commiting adultery!!

Re: Very Happy Diwali wishes!

faris, thanks for that, what you wrote helps so much because i've always had this major urge to visit pakistan, i'm kind of obsessed with pakistani culture lately but in these times it seems very impossible to visit. I'm hoping i'll be able to in about 30 or 40 yrs or even now if i could go with my pakistani friend, He would know the country better than i would

Re: Very Happy Diwali wishes!

:D
interesting islam , why not congratulate and do tauba!.
is it permitted to use computer made by kuffar ?
when kuffar are earning money then ?
using net banks run by yahudi who take interest?

Re: Very Happy Diwali wishes!

Diwali is celebrated by worshipping idols??
If that is true then no self-respecting muslim should congratulate the hindus on diwali.

Re: Very Happy Diwali wishes!

may be for you !
but i am happy most muslims here are nicest and better muslim than you . :D

Re: Very Happy Diwali wishes!

No problems, Khan Saab. No worries. May God bless you and always keep you happy - no sarcasm intended.

Re: Very Happy Diwali wishes!

:k: …so it shows in the common man lies the hope for an end to unnecessary fear and hatred amongst us…bravo

Re: Very Happy Diwali wishes!

ive nevr lived in pakistan so i dunno of any pakistani hindus personally even though i know there is a small hindu population in pakistan…and i believe if im not mistaken our flag is supposed to signify the different religions that are surviving amicably within our country…

funny how easy it is for man to hate something he does not understand

back to topic…what i really want to say is that i dont think most of us really think much about religion when making friends …

i fail to understand why ppl are so quick to hate each other based on color, creed, race, caste, any excuse we can find to hate someone else…and we dont even realize we are really injuring our own souls by allowing hate and prejudice to enter our pure souls…we have such pure souls as children…why do we lose it when we grow up? i dont get that i just dont

maybe we cud plan something where u and i are in pakistan and the same time and i can show u around lahore

seriously :hugz:

Re: Very Happy Diwali wishes!
