exactly…the store where i bought it from, had tons of more people buying Veer - Zaara…it has created quite a storm…I think mainly because Late Madan Mohan’s tunes are used in the film.

Yeah..i do agree that these kinds of movies have no place in Islam at all, I mean, the majority of us being muslims here, how can we accept such a movie? Or..even watch it? The whole concept of it is...bukhwas..a muslim girl...going with a hindu guy? or even a muslim girl going with a muslim guy..is wrong in our faith... where is she going with her faith when she leaves with him? Some people like to say..areh yaar..take it as a movie..a movie is a movie..nothin more..and you'll be fine. but movies infact do influence us, they can break us to a point where we sometimes forget what we're all about...and lead us to accept a kaffir viewpoint. I just feel that with making films like this, they're degrading Islam and it's followers. Sure, maybe once in awhile a hindu girl falls for a muslim guy..or muslim girl takes interest in hindu guy..it could happen, but isn't it something we want to avoid, rather then accept? and pyari c gudia, this isn't about india and pakistan as two religions, because as you already know, india is blossoming with muslims. this is about relating two similar cultures, forming a friendship and maybe even romance (which is all very nice), but while showing absolute ignorance and a mockery of Islam. That's what I'm upset about. However, I doubt anyone will ever make a movie about a muslim indian and a muslim pakistani falling in love? or perhaps, if you really want some masala, a sunni and shia falling in love...it would interesting to learn how they learn to live with each other...

lol. as muslims, we cant watch movies. period.
so..since we all watch movies anywayz..we should take the extra step and allow the major aspects of our religion to be thrown down the drain by a bunch of bollywood kaffirs?
yes........
ok wth. if you want to talk religion than we have a specific forum for that purpose available in GS but personally i think you could not have found a worse place to discuss religion in all of GS than this thread (that too in shor sharaba)
well said PCG :k:
i am so sick of these indo-pak stupid movies…its like these Bollywood film makers have no life other than creating BS movies as these.
How many dramas or movies Pakistan makes about indo-pak issue per year -hardly any? India makes a dozen !! this obsession is becoming a phenomena
lol…i know..i realized that too..oh well. ![]()
and after the offical releases of swades and veer zara that'll be it for king khan for the next 6 months, he's been advised to rest his ailing back and he himself wants to take a mini break b4 he restarts shooting in mid 2005.
a personal viewpoint on indo-pak movies, they r full of bughaz and i hate each and every of them that's been made to date and i've seen.
especially loc - kargil which sickened me and made my anger towards indian army increase. i hate your propoganda j.p. dutta + ur partners in crime *
whats wrong you with you people...movies like Deewar, LOC, etc should not be made...simply because it spreads hatred. With improving relations, and the entertainment industires of both countries working together...there is no harm in making movies about frienship among the 2 countries. Yash Chopra has made this movie...I can gaurantee you right now there wont be a single dialouge in the movie which will be against Muslims/Pakistani's. The guy is a legend, and knows what he's doing...unlike people JP Dutta, or Anil Sharma...who have made their careers by making anti-pak movies...and the simple solution to that is...don't watch it. Good cinema is to be appriciated...whether its from Lollywood, Bollywood or Hollywood.
ur right, it would have been good if shahrukh was also muslim in the movie…it does make it kinda sick when we think of muslim girl with a hindu guy.
Yaasir, ur right i think we can trust Yash Chopra, he is a good director and has made some wicked movies, so hopefully there shouldnt be a single dialogue in the movie which will be against Muslims/Pakistani’s.

…
I just bought it yesterday and so far don’t like it. All the songs are too slow. Lata does not sound as fresh as she used to be. So far a waste of my seven dollars…![]()
By the way, why is Bollywood obsessed with Preity…I think Rani is much better looking than her and Rani should have gotten the lead role.
Yea saw the ad in theater... it would make a lot more sense if the girl was hindu...
The music is not too bad. I like Main Yaahan hoon and Do Pal ka hai khwabon ka karavan.
As far as the movie is concerned - sounds like the typical romantic love story Romeo and Juliet style. Rani’s role might be interesting and the court room scenes might be interesting to watch.
Swades looks a lot better :k:
Ok here is my inference about what it's going to be:
The guy's name is Veer which is obviously a punjabi word so he is going to be a Sikh NOT a Hindu!! The girl's name is Zaara which is a common muslim name. So she is a muslim.
I think Shahrukh goes to Pakistan and meets Zaara (priety) there and falls in love. This time it's not just one of those romance movies but it's going to be a romantic tragedy, like Heer Ranjha, Sasi Puno, etc.
Ok, so Shahrukh will kill someone in the movie or falsely prisoned in a Pakistani jail. And that's where he meets Rani Mukherji (who is also a muslim) as his lawyer.
The movie releases around Diwali, and I can't wait till diwali, I'm in for it!
And those of you arguing about muslim girl and hindu/sikh guy, well it happened in India all the time and still happens so it's reality. So lets just enjoy the movie.
sounds..interesting!
i think that (hypcritically) people wouldn't mind as much if it was a paki boy with an indian girl. as it is, this movie has been already made (twice), once called Bombay and once Henna.
I do happen to think that Yash Chopra will make this film as tasteful as possible and that people should loosen up a bit, it's art and art has no boundaries. If you think a Hindu guy has never married a Muslim girl, go to Birmingham and you'll have another thing coming. Let's focus on the big picture, there should be peace between the two nations, that is all. and the songs are good but how about giving some pub to pakistani singers who i feel are generally far superior to indian ones and create much better music that is not "masala" I just hope it doesn't get preachy

I think he will be a POW or maybe his plane will crash in Pak something along those lines. I don't think he will kill someone.
Preity comes to India and that's where SRK spots her, not the other way around :)
