Re: Valima jewellery
some brides, esp in karachi do wear artificial jewelry to the wedding due to the safety issue. but elsewhere, most of the "fake" sets that u see many brides wear are either white gold or actual gold that has been washed/plated. i forget the proper terminology. they basically dip it in a solution and you can have any shade you want. thats how they get the "antique" looking sets as well, or the sets that look "black".
I think wot posho said is a good idea….it could keep both sides hapi. The guests wont make up stories and you get to wear what you like.
By looking at the other posts looks like artificial sets are acceptable in most parts of the world. Depends on who you talk to really.
We’ve given gold sets to both SIL’s but on the walima day they have matched artificial sets to go with the outfit.
Try Birmingham and Southall…your bound to find something you like
Screw wot ppl say! Lol. its your day. Just bare in mind ur in laws feelings….if you HAD to wear a gold set then its not the end of the world… least you do well in the eyes of your the new family ;)
