This is completely silly. You say, or wherever you copy/pasted from, says:

Uh, do you know that many Hajj rituals were the same rituals practiced by pagans? And do you know the Prophet changed the intentions but kept a semblance of the old rituals? You can say it can be traced farther to Abraham, but lets not forget that Pagans corrupted it. Therefore, why do we circle the Kabah during Hajj and Umrah?
This incident is very remarkable in that it shows us muslims that the weight an act holds is very much rooted in the intentions behind it.
Giving your loved one a gift and an appreciative thank-you at least ONE day of the year (God knows how so well many of you do that on a DAILY basis!), should not be an issue. No one is raping women or selling them off for a night during the Present Day Valentine's day. If you're going to protest it, at least do it on some sound ground like its just an excuse for people to make money, or something of the sort.
