Re: Valentines day? - History and Islamic Perspective
Not to berate the point, but we have similar "admonishment" articles pop up every time we are close to either a Valentine Day, Basant, April Fool's day or any other kind of "non-muslim" holiday/festival/whatever. Its like these are re-cycled year after year. Those who post this or forward them (via email) think they are earning loads of sawaab (insha allah). Those who want to celebrate keep on celebrating thinking its no big deal (masha allah). And those who are indifferent or bored with this repetitive cycle, just click "back" button and go on to browse pictures of film actors and actresses. Hope everyone sleeps well at night. :)
It's actually good that such things pop up during these times because reminder is the basis of preaching in Islam.
