US vetoes UN Arafat resolution...

Why am I not surprised…

The United States has vetoed a draft resolution at the UN Security Council denouncing Israel’s decision to “remove” the Palestinian leader, Yasser Arafat.

Still US wants Muslim to back its unconditional backing for so called
"war on terror"

its just war on Muslims

by any means.

Wonder what AMERICANS think about this? havnt they got brain???

a Simple resolution to protect a leader of a country

simple allowing Israel to kill anyone! like it cares of any UN thing.

I think all Muslim counteries should Leave UN or it also given atleast one veto to protect MUSLIM interests.

any american here, please do comment about this.

does this reduce the hate towards US in muslim world??

I am totally disgusted with this act of non sense.

A war resultion get backing from US in UN.
Protection of arafat is blocked!

Do you really think Arafat is good for Palestinians?

^^ I dont think think it's our place to decide if Mr. Arafat is good for Palestinians or not, let the Palestinians decide his fate. Majority of Muslims dont like president Bush either, should we eliminate him as well?

The Palestinians have been used as pawns by Arafat while his pockets get fat. The Palestinians haven't had a choice.

Then Muslim (Americans) can vote against him. There is no such luxury for Palestinians. This terrorist dictator has ruled as other Arab dictators do with no regard for his people. His egotistsical rule has left the Palestinian people in shambles. Shame on others around the world that do not demand reform within Palestinian leadership. This resolution was one sided and should have been vetoed.

Arafat should have been offed years ago. He is the true impediment to peace in the region. Stupid Israelis should have taken care of this cancer for the benefit of the jews and the arabs.

Since US wants some Mulsim support now....US and Israel and playing "good cop bad cop."

Big brother protecting little brother. Plain and simple. The UN is a joke and a creation of the west, to protect the west and their interests through the Security Council. Like the mob, it is their legit front business while the dirty work is done behind the scenes. Until the Security Council has real world representation and veto power is rotated among nations, it will never represent the world.

BTW, the people on this board agreeing to Arafat's expulsion are the biggest hypocrites. Selective democarcy is what they believe in. Israel can keep the killer Sharon since he was elected as PM yet the Palestinian leader has to go even though he was elected as well. Just because you hate the leader of a nation, doesn't give you the right to decide whether he gets removed or not. Only the Palestinians have that right.

So then, Sharon and Bush are legit targets. Israeli's and American's don't have that right then as well.

The Palestinians have already gone through the election process, and they chose Mr. Arafat as their president. By the way, why is the U.S. administration only demanding reform in the PA, and not in the other countries like Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Qatar, Bahrain etc.? As far as the resolution is concerned, being one sided and all, it's ironic that whenever a U.N. resolution is about condemning the state of Isreal, it is some how one sided, but if it's a U.N. resolution condemning the PA, its always unaminous...

That is without doubt the most moronic comment I have ever read in gupshup, although I'm sure I'll find more if I do a search on your name.

:k:

Your a real gem Chota, why don't you do a little research on your beloved Arafat before you make a more asinine statements.

It is a fact that Arafat has spent his whole time in power preventing anyone else from gaining any power. It is an egotistical and dicatatorial rule, even with the rigged elections of the past. He wants to be the first president of an independent Palestinian state, but the ignoramous isn't doing what it takes to gain that statehood.

Arafat is 6th on Forbes richest kings, queens, and despots list. His worth? Over $300 million.

Underthedome,

I was right I did a search earlier today, sorry I thought you were being serious.

Seminole,

What's the fat Jew doing to help bring about peace in the region apart from murdering and threatening to murder...not the right moves to live in co-existance surely?

Arafat is a noble peace prize winning spiritual and political leader of the Palestinian people. Whilst the fat Jew is the dictatorial, scheming madman reponsible for untold genocide and evil.

It's pretty simple really.

If the Palistanians want rid of Arafat they'll let it be known by not giving a sh!t when/if he's killed.
