where did it come from? Why do we want to bomb our mistakes? Can someone tell me why FATA area still doesn't have a proper judicial system..police? Health? Education? Roads? ANYTHING? DO they have ANYTHING..at all? Why would anyone in such conditions want to live...and even if a young man manages to convince himself of the futility of suicide..what does he do? An idle mind is the devil's workshop. And there's ample no. of devils moving around in the garb of religious leaders to hijack such young minds.
I guess that you sympathize with MQM too as with all the ethnic mudslinging by sindhi and then punjabi ethnicists, import of people for jobs when more than suitable people are present [then you have the imported police involved in robberies; sonne pe sohaga OR zakhm pe namak?] and then military operations and PPI / Jamati terrorism.
If you can't, then don't shed any crocodile tears for some terrorists too.

They're on the right track, by they can't expect a turn-around in people's attitudes with this move.
First, setting up clinics and educational centers and all these resources is not as easy as it sounds. You see from the article the problems with just setting up a clinic. You have to worry about doctors' safety, how patients will transport themselves to the clinic, people's attitudes about modern medicine, attitudes towards women's health, family planning attitudes, how to get specimens to a lab, recruiting technicians and nurses to work at these centers, and making sure the local bigwigs don't eat up the aide money. There are programs all around the world where people try to set up clinics, and usually it takes well more than 10 years to even get a basic system started, and even then, at the most, you can treat for some major diseases. There is no way that you would be able to treat anything and everything, as in an urban setting.
If they want a sudden change, the Pakistani army has no choice but to manually remove the idiots who are in power in the FATA regions, jail the maulvis who are trouble makers (like the one with the radio show propagating the idea that the polio vaccines will make you sterile!), and place military soldiers with proper reinforcements in every village.
These people have been ignored for so many years. You start pouring aide in the region - its going to get sucked up by the corrupt leadership of these tribes, and people will get annoyed that they're being given stuff after they've become a threat to the world.

Yaar those tribes are wild and hard to tame. They have been like this God knows for last 5000 years, and when you mix those tribes with extremism, and unlimited number of guns & kboom you have the wildest party on earth.

It all depends on national policy, first of all we have to craft the policy. You clean up something only when you dont need them anymore. If we decide, we are not going to breed Jihaadis anymore then getting rid of these people may not be a major problem.
