Re: US Primary elections: Who are you rooting for?
Mubarakan, Clinton has swept in South Carolina decisively.. one step closer to final nomination.
Looks like Sanders already had a clear idea, ofcourse from polls, he left SC earlier to get ready for Super tuesday.. where if he fails to deliver will seal the deal.
Re: US Primary elections: Who are you rooting for?
Today was a whipping. And Sanders deserved it. For a person who was not known to the African American community, his handling of the BLM activists was not smart. He shoukd have let them speak as long as they wanted.
His free education for all makes no sense. Better to focus on leveling the playing field at the school level. Get the high incarceration rates reversed. His statement on reparations show no empathy.
He has not made an effort to connect with Blacks. Now he pays the price.
Re: US Primary elections: Who are you rooting for?
Thats what iâve been talking about. All the talking he has done sounds such a pleasant dream but too good to be true. Its far away from the practicality. We may need him to be there in WH for 20 years with a full majority in both houses to be able to do it.
I think Clinton is getting a lot of help from the way her aides running an experienced campaign⌠Huma Abedin one of the most prominent names as one of them.
Re: US Primary elections: Who are you rooting for?
As a Sanders supporter I had already pointed out I disagreed with his free education for all. But that does not mean his other props as are not practical.
Re: US Primary elections: Who are you rooting for?
What difference does it make? Both parities are run and owned by the same multinational corporations and the privately owned Federal Reserve Bank. Doesnât matter who gets elected, the same foreign policy will continue. Bombing Muslim countries so they can walk in and rob the place.
Re: US Primary elections: Who are you rooting for?
Bombing Muslim countries nahin hota itna asan. aap kisi sai bhi pooch lain. hum koi karorepati thora hain, lakhpati hain. isi liyai aap nai laaj nahin rakhi toa phir bombing karwanai ka humai toa koi shauq nahin raha aap sai ziada milnai ka!
Re: US Primary elections: Who are you rooting for?
They are telpati I think both in letter and spirit. Uncle Tom has learned from past experiences so without loosing foothold he is shifting attention to Asia.
Re: US Primary elections: Who are you rooting for?
Make or break as nearly 600 delegates for 'pubs and nearly 800 for 'rats in play tomorrow.
Ruby has said that he will go on even if he is 0-15. I donât know what would Sanders do if he lost big tomorrow outside of MA or VT, but I think that he will continue on as his supporters are agitated. It is a pity that he still canât excite them like Obama as Democrats only got like ~360k voters out in South Carolina unlike ~500k in 2008. 'Pubs had a huge turnout comparatively of 700k.
Pardon to a vocal Sanderâs supporter here, but the âidiotsâ aka the ones who wouldnât vote for hillary even if Sanders endorsed her after a loss would worry the democrats. I would laugh at their face once President Trump moves into the Trump House. Same so-called âprogressivesâ made sure that Bush strode into the white house in 2000 by voting for Nader..
Man, sometimes I hate the whiny progressives so much who donât see the big picture.
Re: US Primary elections: Who are you rooting for?
I just read this comment on CNN, and lolâd, so I thought I would share it here: Steve Schmidt, a GOP strategist who ran John McCainâs campaign in 2008, said the current Republican reaction to Trumpâs electoral strength âdepends where each individual Republican is in their stages of grief.â
How sad that the Republican elders and establishment canât stand Trump, but instead of doing something about it, are just walking around shell-shocked and resigned to a Trump-led Republican party.
Re: US Primary elections: Who are you rooting for?
You know what, we all can be in a very similar position in November when Trump would be overwhelming heading towards winning the Presidency and we despite not wanting a bit would only be watching him winning. Just remember he still has a overwhelming majority in Southern states which hold a large share in General. The only way out for us is to get our act together and stand unified behind the democratic candidate.
Regarding republican party, they have been spreading hatred, now the biggest bada$$ is taking it to a higher level and will be representing them, whether they like it or not
Re: US Primary elections: Who are you rooting for?
What can they do at this point? This is actually democracy playing out beautifully. The establishment candidates like Bush and Rubio who had hundreds of millions in superPAC donations are losing out and the voice of the (jahil) people is being heard.
Re: US Primary elections: Who are you rooting for?
Overwhelming majority in the south means nothing. The general election only depends on a couple of swing states and the south always goes red anyways. Nobody cares about the south. It comes down to PA, FL, VA, NC, NV and most importantly Ohioooooo
Re: US Primary elections: Who are you rooting for?
Bernie Sanders has himself to blame. Too arrogant when BLM activists protested in Seattle. Walked away in 4 min. When you vote FOR the Crime Bill in the late 90s (granted you spoke up against it), and in the decades since, you dont do squat to reverse the injustice, show some HUMILITY. And listen to what BLM had to say.
Your excuse for the Crime bill vote - some clauses for women and children included. By voting for 5he bill, you protected SOME women and children. But threw black women and children under the bus. So you chose white over black.
When asked about reparations, you said that would be too DIVISIVE. Excuse me Senator, as a leader who wants to revolutionize the system, by definition most of your PROPOSALS ARE divisive. When did that stop you? Donât answer that. When it benefits blacks.
You propose free education for all. How will that benefit those who are incarcerated? And their families. How about leveling the playing field and ensuring indiscriminate race based incarceration does not take place. And focus on public schools. Let all kids be ensured of a GOOD high school education.
And stop speaking ONLY about class without bringing racial discrimination as a root cause of our problems.
Re: US Primary elections: Who are you rooting for?
^ So true. Bernie Sanders is only running for the white people particularly white males. It always seems like he is paying polite lip service to issues regarding minorities and women. The entire demographic is changing but he still thinks it resembles that of Vermont. He isnât running to be the president of Vermont and that is why he is incurring some terrible losses now. I just hope he doesnât take this race to the DNC convention. That would be a pity. Now that itâs pretty clear Clinton will be the nominee, he needs to withdraw and unite the Democratic Party.
Re: US Primary elections: Who are you rooting for?
only for white males? polite lip service? this is a guy who marched with martin luther king.
and economic justice is for everyone - not just white males. in fact, most who will lose out of their privilege will be rich white men and their entourages. there is no reason for pampering any minority leaders who just get richer ârepresentingâ the poor they isolate from those in power.
Re: US Primary elections: Who are you rooting for?
Marching with MLK isnât the be all and end all of fighting for monitory rights. He never has been a strong proponent of the BLM movement. He didnât even care till his campaign team made him realize he needs to talk about such issues. He never mentions immigration reform. It always comes down to Wall Street which is compeltely valid but there are a host of other issues plaguing this country. His free college also makes no sense. First of all, where do you get the money from and second of all, going to college is something that needs to be tackled after reforming public schooling, making early childhood education available for working moms and implementing universal pre K in all states.
Bernie is a great guy but he just didnât make himself approachable to minorities. All these years in the senate and he never championed a cause for the minorities. Heâs also too relaxed regarding gun laws and voted against the Brady bill again mainly coz Vermont is a state where hunting is very popular. But he shouldâve looked at the ramifications of the bill affecting the entire country as opposed to just his state.
