US Presidential Debates 2004

mrpockets, I am sure if anyone has time and inclination, they can take each argument and break it piece-by-piece, because frankly speaking a lot are mere half-truths and gross exagerrations (not very exciting stuff). However, tonight's debate is on domestic issues, so lets keep our focus on that for now, and see how each candidate will fare.

Interestingly, while Kerry's position(s) on foreign policy and Iraq are hard to decipher, and even harder to understand from a practical stand-point or to differentiate from Bush's, on domestic issues, both candidates are far apart on issues. There is a clear Bush vision, and there is a clear Kerry vision. The voters need to understand each and then decide which is more believable and which candidate's plan they agree with. Its as simple as that.

It is getting tighter. Kerry closing gap in terms of Electoral Votes. There are lots of state that Kerry is barely winning right now where as Bush has very less of those kind.

I have a feeling that this is as good as it gets for Kerry.

Latest one gives Bush edge. Looks like now Kerry is trailing in WI & IA and NJ is tied.If Kerry cant win Democrat state like NJ then he cant hope for much.

tells you exactly who’s running the show doesn’t it

There’s a reason it was good… Clinton didn’t come back making excuses that the war made us poor.. it didn’t.. we had a surplus back then.. u know SURPLUS when u have some left over? Bush has accumulated a deficit.

Clinton had the world with him.. I guess Bush is happy to have Ethiopia by his side when he invaded Iraq.

did the 25 million Muslims want to be ‘liberated’.. i guess the RPG’s tell the real story.

terrorist camps or wedding processions?

who’s denying Milosovec was committing a genocide? and who agrees that Saddam had WMD’s ready to deploy against the US?

i need some of what u’re smoking mrpockets.. :smokin:

hahah Bush is a leader cuz we lose our towers and 2000+ peole on his watch?? He’s a leader cuz he still isn’t even near OBL?

did Clinton invade Iraq based on his info? Even u know he was smarter than that.

yes.. calling for something means u have to work towards it.. rushing into war ill prepared without plans to cover your behind is bad.

good.. so next time we lose a soldier in Afghanistan it’s anyone but the terrorists.. right?

dude have u heard of something called logic? Milosevic is given full rights to defend himself in an International Court of Law.. Saddam has been thrown in some hole where no one knows if he’s even alive?

Seems to me the Pubes are just getting more nonsensical by the hour..

Appreciate your comments, Faisal. However, I think it would be hard for a Democrat to disagree with the points presented. What was good for Clinton's goose should be good for Bush's gander - but they seem to be forgetting that because it doesn's suit their current agenda and positions!

And I agree with a clear Bush vision, however, could not tell you for one second what Kerry's position is on much of anything! All we know is he's "got a plan". We don't know what it is...and apparently nobody but Kerry, and maybe Breck Girl, knows! What would he do better? What "they" did wrong! Real substantial stuff!

All I know is his numbers don't make sense, his health care plan is
out and out socialism, and I truly have found nothing that supports his claims of consistency! It's just not there!

He's got more moves than a ballet dancer. Looking forward to seeing if he knows how to tap dance at tonights debate!

Can someone call DNC and tell Kerry to ask Dubya this question.

Why the hell did you prolonged your vacation on your ranch in August 2001 to almost a month when you were told by CIA that there are terrorist plans against US. Why the hell you Texan cowboy moron!!!

Not just US but the whole world has gone through hell because of his neglegance :mad2:

President’s Daily Briefing on August 6, 2001

I have yet to hear a single coherent point out of any of the posts you have submitted. Do you have anything meaningful to contribute? If not, I'm sure the Bushies would love a few brown people at their rallies to prove they aren't a rich white Christian man's party. Oh and don't bother flying there, you might never be heard from again.

Tsk tsk.. this is so personal, yaar. Focus on the argument (or lack thereof). Personal attacks cheapen the debate, you know. :)

It's alright! I have broad shoulders! And brown people are welcome to my party anytime! How racist to have suggested otherwise! That goes for both my home and my politics!

It is not my fault if you haven't the wit to meet me on equal footing! Try ESL again!

If they chose to acknowledge the undisputable fact that the USA was founded on Christian principles, then they are only reiterating indisputable fact. Is that to be done to the exclusion of others? No!

However, will I allow our Heritage to be short changed by Revisionist history that denigrates the contributions of white, Christian males because it massages the egos of those who don''t happen to fit that description? Absolutely not!

Please...I'm more than able to take care of myself, thank you!

so what is the prediction about debate?
will we hear anything new. or it will be same old ****.

What is Bush’s problem. Why he winks so much??

Same shiiit .

I have to agree ... SAME arguments, same name calling. Give me something original!!!!!

Dubya is on drugs are again

hahaha the homosex Q!!!

I have to say Dubya is doing good.

Whats with both wearing the same tie. Some kinda uniform for these guys?

And from where in the wide world the second question about flu shots came flying in? That was so inane. I almost burst out laughing. Bush was clearly struggling by the unexpected absurdness of the question and was rambling on about “don’t get your flu shots” :hehe:

Boooooo for bringing Cheney’s daughter into discussion :nook:

Though health care questions have brought forward ‘some’ new points, IMO, to Kerry’s favour.

Notice the screen split. They are leaving some blank space on top so that Bush doesnt look like Midget. :rotfl:

I must say it makes a big difference.

^ yep. Kerry put forward some new plans and obviuosly Bush was repeating hiself again and again. Whats up with Bush repeating 'Kerry has no record' on every topic.

i agree...i have found kerry very focussed with a good description of what he plans to do....

bush is mentioning kerry's record little too much...come on lets talk about future....plus lets talk about what bush did in last 4 years.....if he is proposing new plans now, why didnt he implement them when he was president for last 4 years...

This is what Carl Rove told him. He gave him some stats on each topic and asked him to keep repeating it.
