The known planning for a U.S. military offensive in Pakistan:
·Some of the 10,600 U.S. troops now in Afghanistan would be shifted to the border region as part of regular troop movements; some would be deployed within Pakistan.
·The U.S. also is weighing how and if Iran can be persuaded to help, according to internal Pentagon communications. The U.S. is eager to avoid a repeat of the Afghan war in 2001, when some al-Qaida fighters were believed to have escaped into Iran.
WASHINGTON – The Bush administration, deeply concerned about recent assassination attempts against Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf and a resurgence of Taliban forces in neighboring Afghanistan, is preparing a U.S. military offensive that would reach inside Pakistan with the goal of destroying Osama bin Laden’s al-Qaida network, military sources said.
Looks like Musharraf has no choice but to agree to what President Bush does. To find Al Qaeda US has to attack NWFP and Baluchistan areas. There are miltants in Karachi too. US just announced aid to Pakistan, so there is no way Musharraf can deny US forces using Pakistani territory.
Under the pretext of saving Musharraf, US will lauch a military offensive in Pakistan.
What the f*** is chron.com? Classic case of giving the readers(Indians?) what they want to read. Nawa-e-Waqt’s editorials used to be quite famous for that.
Why is everyone in denial. US troops have probably been in Pakistan many times secretly before. Why are they in bases inside Pakistan, just to fly out to afghanistan? US already ahs bases in many Central Asian Republics.
Surely, Sheikh Bakwas Rashid will come out and deny this and so will the FO spokesman. We all know the truth however.
The fact is that step by step we are losing national sovereignty.
Today, no one can fly on Pakistani airliners without it being recorded in some FBI computer. Now, we have virtually acknowledged that our armed forces are inacapble of controlling our own land by allowing US troops in.
Our nuclear program is whittled down with alarming speed.
US forces have been in Pakistan since the 60's at the least and probably even before that. I know cuz I've lived in their one of their former colonies in Badaber. Such a nice place to be.
JFYI: Those rich white asses prepaid the electricity rent for the area and my uncle who's posted there doesnt have to pay for his electricity bill even today, which he has to when he's posted outside Badaber. Mind you, he tells me the American air conditioners and geezers are 57-58 vintage.
Do you'll think the Jihadis would spare Musharraf, now that US has complete access to whatever they want in Pakistan. There were strong rumors in Pakistani press, that they would be next after Iraq.
I think Osama bin Ladin would escape to Chechnya or Yemen from Pakistan. After attacking Pakistan, US would attack other countries to find OBL.

US will never attack Pakistan directly. That is why it is trying to unravel us from within. Lot of praise for one man - Gen.Musharraf but lot of doubt on Pakistani nation itself.
This is a long term effort by the US to first roll back our nuclear program and then secure our weapons itself. Simulatenously, US has forced us to do 180 turn on the Jihad-e-Kashmir and the Taliban.
The long term aim is to reduce Pakistan to a minor player in the region, as it uses India to try and contain China.
The point is allowing this is an infringement of Pakistans sovereignity, how...allowing a foreign country to bomb or co ordinate attacks on territory in any nation is unbelieveable.
The Tribune report seems to be a carefully released leak from the Pentagon.
We have seen such leaks before, followed by denials and finally confirmed by facts on the ground.

So have I including reports like breakup of Pak civil war unrest blah blah blah but they simply disappear from horizon. After the discovery of WMD in Iraq I take such reports reeeeaaaalll serious ;)
