Beirut, Somalia, how are those working out for you? Shining successes for the Muslim world? Those were quagmires and still are. Glad we got out of those. Sending in a couple of hundred troops is always a waste. Vietnam was a political failure, not a military one.

Veitnam you got ur butt kicked good and proper by a bunch of chicken farmers and in somalia you ran like chickens and in beruit the truck bombs made your soldiers go puck puck puck chicken!

Vietnam? Name one battle that was lost.

Beirut just got rid of the Syrians, and a new bomb goes off every week. Somalia continues to be a cesspool of misery.

The US military is without peer. Can the political process catch up? who knows?

(Actually I was reading an Iraqi blogger. He refered to Iraqis as "crocodiles", big mouths, little arms and legs. A great deal of the Muslim world talks the talk, walking requires effort and coordination.)

As the Vietnamese found out, you can lose some battles, but can still win the war, and 58,000 American soldiers losing their lives in the process is proof of that.

When they tangoed with Iran in 1980, their copters came crashing down in the desert, and then had to do some backhand deal with the Mullahs to get their people released. That did not stop them getting blown out of Lebanon some years later, quite literally, at the hands of those "Iranian-backed" resistance fighters.

It only took 18 American soldiers to be killed, and their dead bodies dragged through the streets of Mogadishu for the American's to announce they were fleeing, as quickly as they could.

"Only" 1700 or so US soldiers killed in Iraq, and the American public's support for that quagmire and it's President come crashing down, and it is becoming bloodier and bloodier in Afghanistan, as well.

No wonder all we see from them is bluster and bravado over Iran, and none of the war talk anymore. :)

What is common here, all 5 of them ran with their tail between their legs if you know what I mean.
