Unfortunately my mother's condition only stabilized for about three weeks during which time I was at home with her. When I returned to UK she deteriorated to the point where she needed to be hospitalized once again. She didn't come home to stay after that.
But I remember how difficult it was during those three weeks when we were looking for someone to care for her at home. The interviews, the background checks......I would hate to ever do that again.
I don't think that I could trust my parent or loved one to anyone else but a family member.
Even when ammi was in the hospital, one of us was there when she awoke, at every meal time and then right up to the last waking moment she had.
Maybe we are just paranoid.
