yeah i plan to learn Arabic...infact i tried to learn but found the grammar very difficult,, perhaps i'll give it a go again in future.

well done! ahmed, did you look for the meaning or you just knew them? These are actually farsi words and people hardly use them in Urdu language.

Re: Urdu Words

giraan and pisr are used a fair amount in urdu..poetry and etc

zimistaan paeez bahaar tabistaan...i guess bahaar is first though..anyways I speak farsi..crappily but it's getting better

Re: Urdu Words

bah! chah khoob!

yes bahar[spring] is the first then tabistaan[summer], paeez[autumn] and then zimistaan.

So may i know how you're learning farsi language...i mean any good sources?

Re: Urdu Words

I took it/am taking it in uni as a second major

Rosetta Stone for farsi is pretty good. i think they use one or two words that aren’t really used anymore but it’s a good way to start. I used Pimsleur maybe once but I liked it. This site has tons of sources : http://www.languages.umd.edu/persian/studies/resources/index.html

The virtual Persian is pretty good.

Other than that films are a good way to learn.

Re: Urdu Words

Wow the link is full of brilliant sources. Mamnoon.

Rosetta Stone is pretty expensive though. I plan to do a degree in persian and iranian studies inshallah, but for the time being i’m trying to learn the modern spoken farsi, i’ve got this book and CD by Narguess Farzad, it’s being very helpful. thanks again and good luck
