YES, it IS a Hindi word but Urdu has adopted this word like thousands of other words that have been borrowed from other languages as well. the word 'Urdu' itself is a Turkish word meaning 'lashkari'. those borrowed words are widely used and sometimes there are no equivalent words in Urdu like glass [not sheesha...the glass you drink water from], marks [examination], signal [we mispronounce as 'singal' in rural India] etc
