Speaking of Assassin's Creed, I have the first game but haven't opened it yet. I'm one of those rare people who play Halo for its campaign.
halo had epic campaign.apart from second game.even odst was awesome..btw reach doesnt follow novels
ac1 was just ok it had awesome gfx but repeatitive gameplay.on other hand ac2 was an awesome game, from moment you to get introduced to ezio to the end.. and ending gave me big goosebumps
btw even i have big catlouge to complete.fable3,vanquish,fallout new vegas,castlevania,resonance of fate,nier,bioshock 2,mafia 2,gothic 3 :p
Resonance of Fate and Nier are two of the games I've also been thinking of (I'm a big fan of RPGs). Though this generation I haven't beaten any RPGs aside from Mass Effect and Fable 2. I still have a few games I haven't even touched yet, like Star Ocean 4 and Infinite Undiscovery. My current backlog includes Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, Eternal Sonata and the Last Remnant among the RPGs from this generation alone.
big rpg fan here too..btw play mass effect 2 dude. one of the best game ever made, they have down graded few stuff.. at same time huge improvement like combact, inventry and no stupid mako, after playing me2,every game looked lame,it took some time to recover until gow3 and alan wake
coming to jrpgs.only game i loved this gen was lost odyssey total awesomesauce game.it had great story those dream sections were heart touching, combact system was pretty old school.big game took me around 60-70 hours with all the side quests.and the music heard good things about resonance of fate will try it later.also nier is not rpg its more of hack & slash
I'm playing Mass Effect 2 (well, it's the game I'll play when I finally get gaming time, possibly this weekend). I love it so far. Even the first one was really addicting. As far as JRPGs, I don't think I've completed a single game this generation. When I get to it, I'll probably finish off either Blue Dragon or Tales of Vesperia (which I forgot to mention as part of my backlog). Did you try Tales of Vesperia?
Alan Wake was fun, though a bit different from what I had hoped for. I beat the stuff on the disc and still have to get the first DLC. My big problem with RPGs now is that you need a significant chunk of time to do anything meaningful in the game. It's much harder to do when you have a job and family. If they get Skies of Arcadia on XBLA, I'll get that on day one.
no haven't tried tov yet...btw another jrpg i forgot to mention was valkyria chronicles.not a proper jrpg.but an awesome game loved it. total anime style cell shaded game.but the anime was boring
also another game demon souls tried like 2-3 hours couldnt even cross first stage
its not like game is hard as ninja gaiden black it doesn't have many save points or pause.everytime u die half the health is lost. have to try it again.. friends got platinum on demon souls :(
Oh yes, Valkyria Chronicles. If I had a PS3, that would be the first game I would get. It also had appearances by Vyse and Aika from Skies of Arcadia (my all time favorite game), which is why it caught my attention in the first place. Demon Souls also sounds very interesting, especially the concept of invading your friends' games.
My next 2 purchases were Konami Classics volume 1 and Halo Reach. The latter I got for 40% off the regular price. As for the former, I needed to add about $7 for my order (boxing day special) so I bought it to make up the difference. It cost me $10.
