Unprofessional Bollywood at it's best

Re: Unprofessional Bollywood at it's best

May be you just watched the good one. I am sure Bollywood makes 8-10 movies like that every year. Ofcourse other 150 are crap.
I am sure if recommended some good movies from Bollywood then they would love it. Ofcourse I wont recommend K3G or KKHH. :D

Re: Unprofessional Bollywood at it's best

Its funny how the Pak people seem to be touting Iranian movies.
Apne film industry se to compare kar nahi sakte, they are seeking out Iran to put down the Indian Film Industry.

The fact is, every film industry produces a fair amount of garbage(including Hollywood). As far as Iranian movies are concerned, let me just say that when people watch foreign language movies, they usually watch only the good/popular ones. And finally, the number of Indian movies released eevery year is large so the proportion of bad movies also appear to be substantial.

Re: Unprofessional Bollywood at it's best

I have watched iranian movies. Not all are good and most have the same depressing political message. When iranians movies first got the attention internationally it was bcause of it's starknress, sadness and political messages. Now it is getting repetive and boring..

Bollywood does make good movies Last year there was Dor, Khosla ka ghosla and many more independent small budget movies.. Even omkara was a masterpiece.. Not to forget bengali and malyalam and even tamil movies which get national awards and have both social and entertainment values.

Re: Unprofessional Bollywood at it's best

I have never been a fan of Hindi movies myself......For decades Hindi movies have recycled the same story...boy meets girl...fall in love...something bad happens(eg a villain comes between them, bad in-laws etc)...a lot of rona-dhona later....everything ends positively.

However, lately I have been noticing some fresh ideas and even short-duration movies....I think this is because of new-generation directors and story writers.....and if you ask me , Hindi movies finally appear to be coming out of run-of-the-mill story-telling.

Re: Unprofessional Bollywood at it's best

Off topic: but i really hate G.W.Bush - who wants everyone to fight amongst themselves while he eats his ice cream and watches it all happening on televison in his living room - I hope his kids die and he himself gets to experience an horrific death for conspiring to ruin such peaceful countries like iraq and now this one for his own selfish desires! mokeyman!!

Re: Unprofessional Bollywood at it's best

I think bollywood is better now then it was in say the 80s. The movies back then were complete crap that I kinda stayed away from Hindi movies until say the mid 90s. Bollywood now is so much better than what it was before and the movies have such diverse topics now. Directors are taking a lot more risks now. Plus you have to admit as unprofessional as bollywood is sometimes, it does manage to entertain you with some of its movies.

Re: Unprofessional Bollywood at it's best

^You were there in the 80's ...OoO how old are you?

well i dont think bollywood is bad i watch all the good movies to come first day last show :D its a good source of time pass and entertainment, rahi baat comming late and all then us desi's have our own style ..

Re: Unprofessional Bollywood at it's best

well I was about 5 or 6 when I first saw that meenakshi actress and I remember seeing her songs collection on a video cassette that my dad bought. I don't remember very well but mostly what I was thinking was how stupid the songs were even if i didn't understand Hindi very well. the dances were even dumber and I usually fell asleep through most of them.

Re: Unprofessional Bollywood at it’s best

Again, I am not putting Bollywood down. What I am saying is Iranian film idustry is better and more mature. When was the last time an Inidan fil won at Oscor or Cannes Film festival award? Despite all the negativity about Iran they still manage to get awards from their so called enemies.

Why can’t our Indians friends take criticisim these day? Is it because they have been used to India getting over hyped by the western media and sadly they themselves started believing it? India has a long way to go so does Pakistan. Lets not fight and try to get better both of us.
I agree that there are 2-3 film every year that are original and good. Last year was Iqbal and Khosla ka Ghonsla which were decent movies.
Peace…

Re: Unprofessional Bollywood at it's best

abay chup!!!! Iran, Pakistan, Hindustan, Taftaan, Pandaan sub bichray howe bhai hain :p

Seriously if you take out RGV and likes, Bollywood is garbage. But some of the recent non-comercial type movies are really awesome. Its just a matter of time when new directors change the taste of educated middle class. I bet you the likes of Karan Johar and Shahrukh will be hiding in bush.

Re: Unprofessional Bollywood at it's best

Not all of them are political movies. Have you seen the movie "The Color of Paradise" by Majid Majidi? I HIGHLY recommend that movie since it is one of the most beautifully directed films and it touches you in a way minus the glamour and visuals that accompanies western/bolly flicks.

Re: Unprofessional Bollywood at it's best

I love Govinda movies. They are so deep and artistic. Some of my evergreen favorites are;

Biwi #1
Nauker Biwi Kaa
Disco Dancer
Govinda in White Suit

Re: Unprofessional Bollywood at it's best

Whoa. Hold it. Let's not sully the good name of Mithun Chakrawhatever by saying he shared the spotlight with Govinda in the starmaking blockbuster, and dare I say, iconic, Disco Dancer.

Did anyone catch 'Govinda in Rope Belt'?

Re: Unprofessional Bollywood at it's best

its good u ppl r highlighting professionalism....but at the end of the day every one is fifth bizness and wana enjoy some masala. reality is what we see, what we eat n wat we drink...irony is r reality is fantasy for developed country cuz they have clean patented soda and chilly popcorns in their hands to get familiarity wid r problems (rather than to explore) wid every sip.
(who spends money to see poverty, filthy looking environment? i guess no one. atleast i wont go for such flick, doubling the expenditure of my bp medicines (even though i know they r available for FREE).
but bollywood's this take is disaster for themselves that will appear in long run.

best indian movie i have seen is "Kholsa ka ghosla" (a must watch)

Re: Unprofessional Bollywood at it’s best

is there any thing calls respect in your dictionary.

(if u really want to use right of free speech, please avoid defamation. there might not girls wearing those pants, but they might do wear scarfs. (AS I DO ONE). its silly how u juxtaposing pakistani galz wid arabic ones. have some homework done then put every one in a same category.:grumpy: :grumpy:   :naraz: :naraz:

Re: Unprofessional Bollywood at it's best

Can you please explain your observation about Iran? Iran is no.2 enemy of Pakistan after India. I have nothing against Shia people as they are different religion but I am too fond of ayatollahs. Anyways, even though Bollywood movies are a load of crap yet a lot of Pakistanis are crazy about them- watch and discuss them all the time.

Re: Unprofessional Bollywood at it's best

What do you expect??? These Bollywood people have no discipline and are so up themselves, its disgusting!! There are a few faces I could really slap in that industry.... I swear to god!!!

Malaysian Newspapers blasts Bollywood

--- No Discipline
--- Unprofessional Behaviour
--- Bollywood artists never are on time

IT’S the same old Bollywood story. The antics of Bollywood stars have become legendary and as predictable as a bad film script.

As the Press members waited for the Global Indian Film Awards (GIFA) — held for the first time in Kuala Lumpur over three days from Dec 7 — media conference to begin on Thursday, all we could do to while our time away was exchange anecdotes of previous Bollywood events we’d covered. And two-and-a-half-hours of waiting made for a heck of a lot of stories.

Like typical Bollywood fare, much song and dance was made prior to the event. A Press conference had been arranged a week earlier, only to be cancelled at the 11th hour. For most of us GIFA brought back memories of another awards ceremony, the International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA), which was held in Genting Highlands four years ago.

Many promises were made months before the event (like how it was supposed to have been attended by Bollywood’s A-listers, only to have but a handful turn up) but failed to be delivered when the time came. But what really got our goats then and at other media conferences involving Hindi film stars was their utter lack of respect for people and time.

So when three events were slated back-to-back for Thursday — a Press conference for the latest Hindi film Baabul, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Salman Khan, Rani Mukherjee and John Abraham at 3.30pm; followed by the GIFA conference at 4.30pm; and the world premiere of Baabul at KLCC at 7pm — I said a silent prayer for the organisers, the Malaysian-based One Big Option Sdn Bhd and Indian-based Popcorn Entertainment Pvt Ltd. It’s hard enough getting Bollywood artistes to come on time to one function but squeezing in three in a day? What were they thinking?

At 5.35pm, Abraham, Baabul director Ravi Chopra, the film’s music director and scriptwriter took their seats. Soon after, emcee Mahadzir Lokman — whose conviviality came in handy at times like this, helping to keep our foul mood in check — announced, not without a touch of sarcasm, that "we’re seriously behind time and it wouldn’t do to keep the Deputy Prime Minister’s wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, waiting (at the premiere later in the evening)" and that the Press conference should commence immediately.

Just as one journalist was about to shoot the first question, Chopra — seated at the centre of the long table before us — decided to take a phone call first, while the roomful of journalists stared at him in disbelief!

Even after that we were told that no, we couldn’t start the conference without "Mr Salman Khan who will be down in two minutes".

Apparently in Indian time, two minutes meant 20 and at close to 6pm, the all-important Mr Khan — accompanied by about 10 big, burly men in black (no, seriously) — deemed it a suitable time for him to come down from his suite at the Palace of the Golden Horses. And when Salman, in reference to Baabul, said: "Men have always made laws to suit their convenience", it was all we could do not to chuckle. He obviously knew what he was talking about!

Most of us would have probably walked out of the Press conference that day, had it not been for our respect for Rosmah, who is also the patron of GIFA.

Naturally the Baabul premiere started late too and this time even Rosmah, Indian High Commissioner R.L. Narayan and his wife as well as Minister of Tourism Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor were not spared. Having arrived at 8.30pm, when the film was scheduled to be screened, they were made to wait as the cast began trickling in only an hour later.

Now where else would you find something like this happening? Only in Bollywood...

Re: Unprofessional Bollywood at it's best

oooo that old article thats always being used whenever someone wants to harass Bollywood ????? post something new baba.
