Now, what is suspicious may vary from person to person, and I do hope that they keep tabs on what people are reporting as suspicious. if some prof has an issue with people with a different political view tha his own and keeps reporting them, then his reports have to be taken with a grain of salt.

Right. How do you distinguish a heated disucssion with a someone's 'actionable' slant?

Also, last year there was a brouhaha about political (zionist, neo-con) groups keeping tabs on liberal professors (also some muslim professors made the list because of their cricitism of Israel). Where does this scrutiny/surveillance end? Majority in power are deciding what's right for academic discourse, what to think and what to say? It's funny how liberal west can't stop shouting about 'freedom of speech' and deridiing commy china and north korea.
