Re: Universities in Chicago
No I am not familiar with anything about USA. I chose NW because of a friend who lives in Chicago. I do not know about any other good schools in USA.

what you are studying matters a lot too, MIT runs circles around Harvard in some areas and vice versa.
Kellogg (northwestern) has a better marketing program than Booth (Univ of chicago)
and since Northwestern is in Chicago also, the whole home of Obama applies, not that it really matters. Little rock arkansas is home of bill clinton does not mean u got u to Uni of arkansas-little rock
so does Kellogg school at Northwestern.
as a matter of fact Northwestern ranks #1 in marketing, ahead of Wharton, and Stanford and way ahead of USC.
Marketing - Best Business Schools - Graduate Schools - Education - US News and World Report
Now for finance Wharton and Booth are both ahead of Kellogg at 1 and 2, while Kellogg is 10, stanford at 5, and USC not in top 10.
for mgmt focus, Kellogg is at #3, behind, Harvard and Stanford, wharton at 5, chicago not in top 10, and if we have not caught up with the theme yet, USC is not there either.
In the end all schools mentioned are good schools, more than just the university, the college within it e.g. business, and then program matters. there are unis which dont rank in top 20, with schools that dont rank in top 20 but programs that do.
My above note was to share some information about rankings since it seems people were not aware of the standing of Kellogg. but as long as someone goes to a good school or program its all good.
Re: Universities in Chicago
Ok X2 bhai I am confused now, so is NW a good university to go to or not? :S

Re: Universities in Chicago
I skimmed it :p
Ok ok I got it lol
Buddy X2, what I wrote above about Obama is based on facts. Just do some research on Obama and University of Chicago (UofC). Here are some for you:
[ol]
[li]Obama taught law classes at UofC for 12 years. Read more here- Media Inquiries | University of Chicago Law School[/li][li]Mitchel Obama (his wife), was Vice President at UofC Hospital System, before that, she was Director of Community Affairs office at UofC.[/li][li]Malia and Sasha Obama- both were going to UofC’s famous kid school (The Lab School) - First Day of School for Obama Girls - Washington Wire - WSJ[/li][li]Obama was politically groomed by die-hard liberal Democrats of HydePark, where Uni of Chicago is located.[/li][li]Obama’s home is in Hyde-Park/Kenwood neighborhood of Chicago- less than a mile from UofC main-campus.[/li][li]Some heavy weights in Obama administration have UofC connection- David Axelrod, Valerie Jarrett, Arne Duncan (current Secretary of Education)- http://magazine.uchicago.edu/0902/chicago_journal/obama.shtml[/li][/ol]

I rest my case ![]()
Re: Universities in Chicago
Hey thanks for the clarification dude man, I misread you, I thought you meant that uni of chicago is in chicago and chicago is home of Obama. I get you now, Thanks for the explanation.
I guess we are all on the same page now, since I had already rested my case about the rankings above. :)
