akhand bharat term can be more of Ancient world or continent then a country........
whatever you say end of the day all the places in sub continent have more in common when compare to europe/central Asia, even a south indian family structure would be more similar to punjabi then european/central asian
But this similarity in structure could not keep people live together due to intolerance for other's religion. Whether we agree or not, religion distiguish people from one an other and if two parties following there religions in strict sense wish to live together can't do so, if there religion don't allow eating together and marriages in between.

There are similarities between Pakistani areas and most of north India and the reason is that these areas have remained together in different dynasties. I don't think that there are many similarities between north and south India too, although they are now living in the same country. If culture is the reason for akhand Bharat then Indonesia and Malaysia should also become one country as the majority are the same people(Malays), have same religion and culture.
babloos, I agree that there is a certain set of mind in Indian public for Pakistan due to media's role, but I don't think that opponents of Akhand Bharata or similar expansion theories on any side bother about the situation being portrayed. They are just behind their dreams to be fulfilled at any cost without thinking of the future consequences.
can you give me links from any main stream indian media where people wanted to combine pakistan to form great india
babloos, there are many things that are avoided to be discussed on mainstream media for certain diplomatic reasons, the issue is not new and very much alive and discussed on different forums. There are also people in India who oppose this idea.
The poor area which constitutes Pakistan has been rampaged over and over throughout history:
Alexander the great May 326 BC
Maurya Empire 300 BC
Indo Parthians 50 AD
Kushans 100 AD
Persians and kushans 400 AD
Persians and Huns 500 AD
Abbasids and Hindushahi 800 AD
Hindu shahi and Saffavid 900 AD
Ghaznavids 1100 AD
Ghauris 1200 AD
Mongols 1300 AD
Timur 1400 AD
Moghuls 1500 AD
British 1800 AD
I dont think any other region other than that forming Pakistan has gone through so many invasions in history.
Ali there is a parellel theory running against this Akhand Bharata theory. IMO Akhand Bharata is response to such theory. The supporters of that theory believe that Pakistan came into being when Muhammad Bin Qasim entered Sindh :D

I know that some people portray as if Muslims were the first invaders in the subcontinent although that's not the case throughout our history the invasions have been taking place through our western borders (central Asia and Persia). Hindu Shahi was also Afghanistan based and was a Hindu empire. If some one is propagating that Muslims were the first invaders himself needs some history lessons. Somehow this area has always been volatile, even today, salute to the resilient people of the area.
lol when majority doesn't even care then whats the problem
people in those forums won't even represent one percent of total population
Agree, but sometimes minority affect the policy making. If we see Pakistani public don't want their army to indulge in issues like Kargil war, etc, but the ruling class (army, etc) support such ideas for their vested interests.
they are not a political party nor have any bureaucrats in them
BJP just need their support for political reason rather for a ideological reason, but having said that i heard RSS members were forefront in providing man power during many crisis like tsunami, natural disasters
may be kaur can answer better :)
