Well, it's not exactly something to be proud of ... but it's not very surprising. I doubt the majority (lower classes) of Pakistanis are into this stuff.
A decade ago it was the upper class who could afford these parties. Now boys and girls from Lcas, Lums, grammar school, american school, Aitchison, bloom field hall..all do it. They are fun though..The parties on chaand raat and basant are a blast.
The only two things good about these parties are food and Lahori aunties dancing...they are just wild :-D
This is such a white-washed mentality. What exactly is so 'mod' about what they are doing? Sure, let them be...but don't point to a pile of crap and tell me it smells like roses. :D
...not the same. The nonsense that goes on by the elite is hidden and denied. No one is glorifying it as "the thing to do", or as "a-okay" or as a "bit of fun". Of course, once Pakistanis learn cut-your-neck capitalism, that may change too...
