Unattractive people who pose

Re: Unattractive people who pose

my great-grandfather was in WWII and as a result lost some fingers on one arm, the other arm and suffered some really bad scarring on his face. He was awful to look at if you saw him on the street.

He was also our spiritual leader, prayer every three hours, and the sweetest man I have ever met in my life. He was patient, loving, careful, and absolutely in love with his wife who loved him back absolutely. Their marriage was the ideal for me and what I strive for in mine.

When she died of a stroke he died 3 months later.... no reason, just never woke up. As sad as that was, it was also the most romantic gesture (can't think of the right word). He loved her so much he followed her to God.

My point here is that he was loved wholeheartedly by his whole family who took every chance they could to photograph him and his wife. As ugly as he was on the outside, he was more beautiful inside than anyone I have ever met.

Judging someone entirely on their looks is petty and shallow. Justifying it with "everyone does it" makes it worse. As my mother would say "If everyone jumped off the Eiffel Tower, would you?".

Aside from that.... one day those people you make fun of will not be around and the people who love them will cherish every photo they have to remind them.
