U.S. Expats in UK Hit by Wave of 'Anti-Bushism'

And Americans thought that only “Muslims” or “alkaida” hates America. Here are some excerpts from the link below illustrating how US is seen in Europe. Mind you, the statements are from non-Muslim Englanders

“Blair and Bush definitely are the odd couple,” he added. “Take the issue of religion – Blair doesn’t wear his religion on his sleeve like Bush does.”

Why did people think that only Muslims see “religion” in White House?

“There was a lot of goodwill to tap into and it took the incredible talent of George Bush to piss it all away in two years.”

:rotfl: the “talent”

**Almost 25 years after she first called London home, Pennsylvania-born Virginia Schultz vividly recalls the days after 9/11. “People were hugging me in the street. I thought the way they reacted then was wonderful.”

“Right now there is strong anti-Americanism and I compare it to the Vietnam War. Bush has been targeted as the villain in all of this. I think he is even more unpopular than Nixon was.”**

I wonder why is that? hmmmmmm :konfused:

**Film-maker Paul Berczeller, a New Yorker now living in London, agreed: "The groundswell of goodwill has definitely evaporated. It was a real missed opportunity.

“As an American living in Europe, I have tried to explain back home how negatively Americans are viewed in Europe.”**

Is this Paul Berczeller talking about alkaida? or Muslim??? wait, he is talking about Londoners.

hehe :D

Waisay she has a point. Even a well-known French newspaper carried a headline on 12 September 2001 stating "We are all Americans". All that goodwill and global solidarity - lost forever. Leave it to Dubby to manage that somehow.

I think that after this drama ends, a couple of years down the road historians will say that after being hit by the terrorism people questioned "why they hate us" and to answer that government raided at least two more countries but people still couldn't understand "why they hate us".
