its called redundancy and distribution of information, and isn't all that amazing or unique to human brains. even something as trivial as your music CD has it. scratch it mildly, and you lose nothing even though you have physically removed material that stores data.

I would, most importantly you cant tell which area which information. unlike CD information is not held in 2 dimension. Smart design ehhh??
