The problem is the taunts of guys. I think it was in France when they saw girls who werent wearing anything but tanktops with half of their body showing. That offended the french people soo badly that they banned the burka, abaya, and niqaab from their country.

There is also a forced perception that men force women to wear it.
Also Niqab has nothing to do with Islam its basically an Arabian cultural thing which has seeped into Islam because the Arab worshipping mentality of Pakistanis.

men are preverted and it is hard to temper that pervert-ness so its not a punishment to girls to hide. They do it by choice not by force my good sir.
Its man's nature to be uberly attractive towards guys. Girls should protect theirselves from that. By wearing hijaab and niqaab they are doing theirselves a big favor.
