Respect your opinion but Test Cricket is not going anywhere. Yes we might see new innovations introduced into test cricket later such as 4 day tests with extended day-night games but ODI/T-20 will NEVER replace test cricket. Test Cricket will remain the yard stick by which greatness is measured and pundits, fans and most importantly players themselves w’d always regard Test Cricket as the premier form of cricket. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind about that.

And we can’t really complain now as almost 80% of tests have a result these days (thanks to 90-over day rule)

I think ODIs should remain (50 overs) as such although I would also like to see the bowling restrictions reduced from 5 to 4 bowlers. 40 overs w’d deprive us of the charm of seeing someone get a hundred in an ODI and I believe the day is not far when someone will actually score a double hundred in an ODI

exactly test cricket is not going anywhere except the record books in the future. test cricket is a dying breed and will phase out. being romantic about it is fine but ground realities are different. In today’s fast paced world test cricket has no place. cricket relies on TV revenues and not many TV companies are going to pay huge amounts of money for empty stadiums (ashes and india/pak clash excepted)
