Finally one rare editorial accepting the media mess.
Absolutely. Good see the sane media questioning the loonies amongst their profession.

Someone must have a check on the courts...especially for corruption, millions of pending cases while lawyers are on the streets...politicing...throwing paints...black one...just because they are either color-blind or they themselves always wear black suits... :D

CJ should take care of that - it's his job. But then again he could not do much about his son Arsalan, so one does not hold out much hope in case of the black coats. :o

Just b/c matter is sub judice it should not be off limit to public debate. Public has the right to know about what, who and how their leaders make decisions. Also, judges are human beings like rest of us, and whats more is that they're public servants, therefore they should expect criticism. Criticizing a judge or his/her decision should never be a contempt of court b/c thats crossing into and limiting free speech by very institution which should be protecting fundamental rights of the citizenry.
As for media, all media has some level or propaganda in it, and its not media's job to insulate judges from media. Judges should regulate/insulate themselves from media, and make their mind independently of outside influences. Anyways, I think if a judges decision make process is influenced by outside forces than that person is not fit to be a judge.
I agree, judges are human as well, and can make the same mistakes as others. It's time some judges in Pakistan stopped behaving like they are exempt from criticism or scrutiny, or that they are better than other people, and should start behaving like humble servants of the people that they are.
It's also time that every senior appointment to the judiciary go through a nomination vetting procedure by the Senate? akin to the US system. That way we can learn about who are judges are, whilst also putting a check on the executive right on appointments.

GEO is showing "ROZEY KEE AAFADIYAT" :)
regular transmissions were interrupted for NS and CJ case though and who can forget 30 hours coverage of CJ's trip to Lahore ;)
