Here's how I cook shalgam (turnips) ki sabzi:
Cut into small pieces.
Chop an onion, fry onion and zeera in oil. When transparent, add a few chopped tomatoes, green chillies, haldi, red chilli powder and salt. When the tomatoes are mushy, add the turnips and a bit of water. When cooked, not to tender and not too firm, garnish with cilantro. SOme people add a tsp of sugar when cooking to neutralize the bitterness, but I don't.
