AAP can also be associated with anything plural (more than 1) But to emphasise on the fact, that Allah is only 1 and only 1, thats why we say *TU. *

Allah is arbic word

Fuqha karam said all those word who indecated Allahz name is Right & ppl can use these words without any doughts

but anyway...saying aap is inaccurate, since aap represents plural. The word tu **should be used instead of app. **Earlier today, on ARY the Qari on Iqra (5:00 EST) was discussing the same thing (with which I agree).

What he said was that app **should not be used, rather people should say **tu with one of Allah beautiful names, such as Ar-Rehman, Malik-e-Yumadin.

I am no urdu scholar, but I have heard from various people that *Aap **is used for Plural only. It does not represent "respect". It is like saying: *We Khuda (tu Khuda) - kinda beats the purpose of having You (tu).

As for as Prophet [PBUH], say: **tu **as well, with one his attributes.

Tu can be said in love, but is usually it is used, in urdu, inspite of Aap.
Aap is not necessarily used for plural. I can say: “Aap kaisay hein?” to show respect.

We should always be careful with using daily use words while making dua. We should always have the *highest degree of respect *and the same goes of refering to the Prophet :saw:. Some naat khawan use words such as tu or tum, and they are not showing the utmost respect.

I never call sumone like "TU" so i always refer to Allah as "aaP"!

I used to call "Allah mian" but then my teacher told me that "mian" is not good...so now i just say Allah ..or Allah Ta'ala!

Word *MIan can used with Allah *

*Like word Mola used for Allah and also used in more 25 terms in arabic language and its prove with quran *

tu or aap doesnt make any difference, may be children are taught to say aap bcz they are being taught how to pay respect and as we grow older we learn that allah is more than a friend to us

i think if we talk to Allah as if we talk to a friend ..that is comforting....As Allah loves us more than anyone else and nearer to us more than anyone else

He definitely has no age , and tu and Aap are assigned due to a person’s age.

Simply go.. Aye meray rab.. or Aye meray Malik.. or. Ya Allah.!

but saying TU is ajeeb yes.. but again it depends.. as Atto said.. Tu is more closer.. App is more formal.. Tu sounds less respectfull.. but Aap is not..

so it depends.. and I am sure. Allah doesnt care much in this regard..? or does HE.. ?
