What do we expect from these ruthless killers - glorifying their heinous crime by videotaping the murder of helpless soldiers who were kidnapped earlier? These are not acts of bravery; on the contrary, these are acts of extreme cowards, who would bound their captors together and shoot them in the back of their heads from close range. What brave men would do that?

If anyone had any notion that these terrorists are holy people and are fighting a holy war, they should think again; there is nothing holy about them or their war. They are plain ruthless barbarians whose only aim is to kill and destroy. We once again send our condolences to the people of Pakistan and the families of the soldiers who gave their lives for their country. Peace can only prevail when the people of the region fully support their security forces as they hunt down these barbarians and eliminate them.

the americans are also killing them on an uninterrupted basis. the reality is that terrorists can also hold some cards. it is possible to simultaneously kill them and acknowledge the card game.

what double standard? talking to terrorists is vastly different from duplicitously aiding/arming/funding them against an ally after assigning "good taliban"/"bad taliban" labels due to some perverse and unintelligent proxy strategy devised by the pak military.

US envoy Marc Grossman held talks this weekend in Afghanistan with President Hamid Karzai and said he found strong support for peace efforts, as the Taliban look to open an office in Qatar to facilitate talks.But the United States said that the Taliban needed to renounce violence and cut relations with Al-Qaeda before negotiations.

The United States hopes to withdraw the bulk of its forces from Afghanistan in 2014 amid public fatigue in the United States and its Western allies over a war first launched following the September 11, 2001 attacks by Al-Qaeda.

The desperation is there, the double standards are there, for Pakistan its do more do more...for themselves its negotiations even if that means to make the taleban a part of the government.

Why do the 'patriotic' members of this forum become curiously quiet on threads like this? Nationalistic chest-beating goes into over-drive when it comes to US foreign policy/NATO losses in Afghanistan/US soldiers desecrating Muslim bodies.
Where is the wrath, the moral indignation, the outcry when it comes to Pakistani on Pakistani violence in the name of political religion?

Seems justice is only relevant when it allows you to be fashionably anti-American/the West.
