I AM AN AFGHAN!!! because I am a Pakhtun, geographically living in Pakistan. How can I say I am not an Afghan that will be saying I am not a Pakhtun. Because Afghan = Pakhtun= pashtun=Pathan, that’s what every pakhtun believe. However, I am not Aghanistani, that will be the citizen of Afghanistan regardless of ethnicity. You people are so ignorant about this, when you say bad thing about Afghan you are hurting you own 40 million Afghan/pakhtun citizens. You guys should be precise when referring to the citizens of Afghanistan.

Did people call themselves afghan when the sikhs ruled punjab and nwfp / kp up to the khyber pass? The point is that afghanistan has been a separate country for more than a century and pakistani pashtuns are and should be proud pakistanis. Everyone calls the citizens of afghanistan to be afghans so how can you be afghan?

The other thing that has been suspect and makes people question you is that you worry about sanctuaries in Pakistan when there are proven sanctuaries of TTP / ISIS in eastern afghanistan that strike first at pashtuns in KP before they strike anywhere else in pakistan. I know that there are journalists like Saleem Shafi saying that afghanistan beats in their heart but don’t you get it that afghans (afghanistan’s citizens) will use you as a pawn to break pakistan to get a seaport in gwadar (highly unlikely) but they don’t want any input from pakistani “afghans” in internal affairs of Afghanistan.

The unipolar world order since the end of cold war is morphing into a multipolar world order faster than many had expected. The window of opportunity for the US is closing so it is desperate to throw a wrench into this transition as well as secure as many long term strategic agreements regarding its military presence in as many places as possible. From Japan to South Korea to South China sea to South Asia to Middle East to Africa, its presence is being threatened, so US is trying to pit one country against another so it’s presence becomes a security necessity for the host nation. For example, US tried to pit Philippines against China but the president of Philippines was smart and didn’t fall into that trap. Ties between North and South Korea are warming up despite US efforts on the contrary. Keep in mind that Afghanistan is an occupied country, its constitution and its resulting government both are a work of art for the US, by the US. Only a minority among Afghans who betrayed their own country for $$$ or are just too scared of the occupying forces hate Pakistan, the rest see Pakistan as their second home. Pakistan should not hate back lest it wants to fall into the trap laid down by occupying foreign forces.

Lets not forget the fact that it was Papa Biden, no matter how much I like him, who had to cobble together this current govt of ghani and abdullah after a not so free and fair election. There is no real hope for the afghan parliamentary elections that were already postponed in 2016 to July of this year. No talking points will solve this real issue that will cause further vietnamization of afghanistan.

Doesnt matter, Pakistan isnt receiving any military aid for once. Pakistani military might still want it, but soon they will ween off. completely and really not care for it.

The US doesn’t really matter anymore for Pakistan, the playing field has been leveled by China with promising economic measures.

Totally disagree with this statement, most Afghans irrespective of their ethnicity support the current government, they hate Taliban because they have now realized the fact that Taliban are proxies. 100% Afghan intelligentsia support the current western supported government of Kabul. The hatred for Pakistan is created by the Pakistan “strategic depth” policy. The afghan national army is very strong and trained professionally, Taliban can never defeat them even if foreign forces withdraw today. The sooner our policy maker realize this fact, the better it will be for us. Pakistan should abandon the already bankrupt strategic depth policy at once.
