Btw, Arbab is referred to as Kala Kawa by the media and his comrades/politicians, so if you guys refer to Fazlur Rehman as Maulana Diesel, you shouldnt have any problems with this.
**He said not they but “Saeen Wado” has called the said leader as “Kala Kawa”. He said they did not like that a human being is named behind animals and birds. Without naming Arbab Ghulam Rahim, he said, all people knew as to how that man was elected in the recent elections.

Re: Triple-One Brig Command changed - Mush Resigning?
Well, lets not destroy the topic by "name calling" on insignificant people.
Here is what I think. Reports of Mushy resigning have been floating for quite some time. The guy has stuck through it again and again. No one expected him to last the election debacle on Feb 18th. Most likely he won't. The country is going through one crisis after another - judicial, fiscal, political, law and order. At some point, the President has to take some responsibility.
Add in the fatigue factor. The guy is in power since '99. Nine years is a long long time to be on your tv screen and dodging the proverbial bullets on a daily basis. People get fed up, especially when they are running from one crisis to another. Whether good or bad, people want change. Let them have their change.
Whether Musharaf manages to hang on to power or exits out after a deal, we should focus on what is good for the country. Mushy supporters will invariably come in and rant that "ok, lets see how these bozoos run the country, now that GREAT Mushy has gone!". Mushy haters will rejoice in "good ridddance!".
Call me pessimistic, but I am beginning to lose hope that Pakistan is really governable. No matter who is in-charge.
And final thought of the day belongs to Cowasji, who said on national television on the night of elections (Feb 18). Asked to comment on how he perceives the election results where PPP and PML(N) routed the incumbants of PML(Q). His reply (I am paraphrasing):
"chor jaa rahay hein.... daku aa rahay hein"
Says it all. Pls don't get your hopes up :)

You nailed it there. And IMO Mush was the best leader Pakistan will have for some time.

Slightly off topic but try telling this to Zimbabwe's Mugabe. The guy is 84 and still wants to hang on to kursi come what may and is refusing to accept his election defeat. I mean most people don't know where they are peeing at that age but this guy just won't give up. :) Fidel Castro who recently handed over power to his younger (i.e. in his mid-70s!) brother is another example. And I believe Zia would still be President if he had not died in a plane crash

Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani held an extremely important meeting with President Pervez Musharraf at the Army House Rawalpindi late on Wednesday.
The meeting continued till after midnight lasting more than three-and-a-half hours. This was their longest one-on-one encounter.
Spock bhaijan. Maybe they were planning another coup? :)

LAHORE
SUPREME Court Bar Association President Aitzaz Ahsan has said that Pervez Musharraf should resign before the June-10 Long March.
He advised the parliament for impeachment of the president if he does not quit by then.
Talking informally with lawyers at Lahore High Court Bar Association on Wednesday, he said June 10 would be the last day of President Musharraf in the presidency, as he would not be given another chance to ditch the masses.
Aitzaz came to the bar to place his signature on the famous “Signature Register” being prepared by the lawyers for the Guinness Book of World Record.
He said Musharraf was illegally occupying the Army House denying COAS Ashfaq Pervez Kayani of his right. The lawyers lauded the role of army under the leadership of Kayani, he said.
The SCBA president said the legal community was left with no option but to swoop on Islamabad in the final show of the lawyers’ movement on June 10, and in the days onwards for the restoration of ‘deposed’ judges.
He said the nation has endured many difficulties due to the policies of Musharraf and constant victimisation of judges of superior courts since March 9, 2007.
Speaking about the recent tape scandal, Aitzaz said that an inquiry should be initiated immediately to disclose the real facts.
He appealed to the masses not to stay put in their houses and join the lawyers’ movement for restoration of Nov-2 judiciary and rule of law in the country.
Aitzaz said retired and ‘deposed’ judges will also participate in the long march and judicial buses will be on the roads leading to Islamabad.

Sure, but that would mean the end of Moshe Aalsi Bhai. Saleem bhai predicted he should join the PML[Q] and become its president, how will that happen if there is a coup?

If I were Gheelani, I would watch my back right now. Just saying.

Oh, I have no doubt that the dictators love to be in power as long as possible. Who wouldn't like police escorts, fancy overseas trips, lavish presidential palaces and the *nasha *of power.
Its the people who get fed up with the same face appearing on their televisions day in and day out. Whether people can actually over-throw a dictator depends on a lot of things, though.
Are 48 hours up yet?

That was changed to 72 hours. Musharraf cannot hide. Jun 10 (or is it Jun 12) is the last day. Long march by wukala will surely kick the president out.
At least that's what the plan is. There are some guppies who have a copy of that plan.

Ah, I see. :)
It is well accepted knowledge that President Musharraf is linked with PML. So, if he is linked, why he should not join that party. I think that he would be good leader and even though there would be some anti-Mush vote in the country, still I believe he could attract lot of votes for the party and could even lead the party to great heights. With him in the party, he could attract votes from all sectors of life. I think that he could attract votes for PML from regional parties as well as most National parties.
I don't have any problems if he joins ranks of PML-Q, he will be joining the corrupts he loved.... there is famous saying "a man is known by the company he keeps" ;)
BTW, Mushy is also known/accepted to be linked with MQM, being from India and supporting MQM and getting same support in return (May 12 "showdown"), so why not join MQM?

He was brought up in Punjabi environment due to the 90% punjabi army, so he will be much more comfortable with other punjabis. He could not fit in with MQM, he is of a different mindset.

I wish more urdu-speaking folks would join the Armed forces of Pakistan and make it a leveled plainfield where there is a healthy mix of ethnicities from all provinces contributing. It sort of looks bad that Punjabis make up about 90% of the Army, as if they're the only ones willing to give up their lives to protect the country. Not a good message at all. :(
Right Khekheshan?
