Uptil now I didn’t regard US soldiers as “trigger happy yanks”, but this news really makes me say that.
According to this news, drunk soldiers entered zoo and tried to feed a tiger and were bit by the tiger, another soldier tried to do that and wat bit the drunk soldier shot and killed the tiger… now what the heck is wrong with these soldiers? why do they have to go out when they are drunk? is there anything called "responsibility? They are representing US being member of US army and such behavior definitely brings bad name. Aren’t US soldiers taught anything regarding “drinking”?
It is Operation Iraqi Freedom. They are going to free the Iraqi Tigers too. Soldiers who can kill innocent civilians will not have any remorse in killing animals.
to be fair you can not judge a whole group which in general is a well trained military force on the actions of some idiot yahoos. Are there trigger happy morons who should not hqve access to slingshots let alone be part of an army..sure, does that make the entire military that way..no.
just think, we talk about how we do not want outsiders to gauge muslims by the actions of the idfiots among us who make it to the news all the time, I think its only right to extend the same courtesy to others, whether its a religion, race, nationality, type of organization etc. a few mad mullahs do not make all imams and scholars morons, a few hanky panky preists do not make the entire church bad, and a few morons playing rambo does not make the entire military wrong.
As I have noted before, I go to a mosque with many bosnians, and they say that they would not be around had it not been the efforts of some american soldiers which saved them from the serbs as well as from the negligence and lame work ethic of the troops from some european countries.
as far as these guys go, they should just be rubbed with steaks and thrown in a tiger cage
Fraudia, the number of "trigger happy" incidents is not one or two, but a bigger number and growing. What "mullahs" and "fundos" do is a separate and different discussion as those "mullahs" and "fundos" are somewhat independent groups and not part a controlled authority/agency. While these soldiers are part of US administered ARMY which has to take blame for irresponsible behavior of its member/crews. Its US army's responsibility to look into "trigger happy" incidents and take care of possible events in future. Its US army responsibility to train them, control them and punish them when they commit any "sin" (an act not permissible by army rules).
changez i completely agree, military needs to kick these ppls butt real abd and make an example just so they know u have to be careful, and others think twice about doing something idiotic.
I would still not call the whole army trigger happy. it could be considered more trigger happy than other armnies, less than others..
now it could be proven or disproven real easily if you take total hours of tour of duty served by various militaries and see what the ratio is between time served and incidents. then we can see who is the trigger happy military.
but the army needs to be more disciplined and punishmemnt for lameness much higher to serve as a constant reminder.
Frustated yankees taking it out on poor animals. As if being in a zoo wasn't bad enough for these animals, to have the immoral (they were drunk) army then use them for target practice. A small example of the mindset of the U.S. Army.
Anyone who harms an innocent and magnificent animal such as a tiger has a gigantic hole where their soul should be. So I hope these a-holes get the most severe punishment possible.
Now, for this tragic incident to be used as yet one more damning piece of evidence against the "evil empire" and its soldiers?....nonsense as usual.
I'm trying to remember if their were any posts specifically referring to animal cruelty on the part of the "rpg happy" Taleban, after we discovered that poor lion and the other animals at the Kabul Zoo who routinely got thier a..es kicked by the Taleban. And presumably they didn't even have the excuse of drunkeness (not that it is one).
I don't think there were any posts like that from American gups.
I think the reason is that we were still reeling from the murder of 3,000 human beings at the hands of the "bomb and hijack happy" Al Quaeda.
There is plenty of cruelty to go around in this world. You've probably made some legit arguments against the U.S. and its policy, but this kind of lame anecdotal evidence used to build your case against the U.S. is simply geared to "culturally profile" Americans.

I, an American citizen condemn this senseless and intentional killing of an animal at the Zoo in Baghdad and will support unequivocally the severe punishment of those found to be responsible. I will accept neither drunkeness nor any other potential "root cause" as a mitigating factor in their guilt.
So, I assume we essentially are in agreement regarding how to deal with these American criminals.
Now if we could just agree on how to deal with terrorists (You know which ones I mean).
Sure, since that issue was raised during that era, blame it on Taliban :k:. What I remember about that is that lions were left alone, hungary because their caretaker had to run for their own lives because of American bombardment. Now I don’t know who should I blame. Can you tell me?

I don’t know if you read news or not, but recently Bush admitted that Iraq has nothing to do with Al-Qaeda, no links found, but perhaps you are in denial and still believe that Iraq was another name / form of Al-Qaeda.
As you said that you agree for the punishment, why don’t you write a letter to your local senator/congressman for the punishment of those soldiers and write a condemning editorial letter to some newspaper(s)… that’ll be nice :k:

Yeah, US military is a joke. They are probably the most inefficient and inept military of all time, all that superpower talk is just hype. US couldn't fight its way out of a paper bag. :)
Perhaps if they employed some good 'ol Saddam tactics like murder, butcher and rape they could contain the population like he did.
