Trifle

Re: Trifle

You can buy trifle sponges in supermarkets, sometimes known as boudoir biscuits. They make a nicer trifle than using a sponge cake as they hold their shape and you don't get any cake crumbs in the jelly.

Swiss roll tastes lovely in a trifle as does a layer of Jaffa cakes.

:hehe: orite if you say so

Ira, I will be trying this today, wish me luck that I don’t screw it up. I can make anything spicy, but when it comes to cakes and sweet stuff, I can be the worst cook :frowning:

i know exactly how u feel...i cant bake anything...yet i can cook almost anything for main entrees

Re: Trifle

Sajal, to very honest, I have never used pound cake myself. I think its more denser than the usual yellow cake and hence the way it absorbs the jello might be different. We just usually buy the normal yellow cake and use that.

Guys, please make sure the jello is fully set before you pour on the custard (cool it first a bit). I let it set overnight before doing the custard thing the next day. This is a very easy but tasty way of doing it. And if you do it in a clear glass pan, you can see all the layers.

Re: Trifle

I did it and it turned out pretty okay. I didn’t buy the cake, I made it from scratch, believe me I loved it, baking is fun  Thanks guys for this recipe
