Good batting by Tendi and Laxman. Congratulations to India.

This is the best time and way to beat AUS as they are without their 4 frontline bowlers, bat them out. Make good score against them and stop them reaching to the target.

Although i think they still are capable of reaching any target (and they will bounce back) but this is India's best bet.

an easy win for India - no surprises there. Yet another century for Sachin Tendulkar - his One Day Record just gets better and better - Diwali gift for fans hehe :) Though i wasn't in the least bit surprised - not only are India at home Australia have a lot of injuries plus India were batting first so Australia were gonna be chasing - though i did actually think that India could have done more to post a bigger total - though well done to them - great start to the series.

The failure of Aussies middle order batsmen who couldn't stand up against Zaheer Khan and Anil Kumble? Like i said earlier - India doesn't have good bowling attack but dude c'mon they did manage to bowled out dangerous Aussies! I'm not saying the series now hangs in India's way. Aussies will definitely try to fight back and I expect a huge one. But as of now, without Bret Lee, Glen McGrath, Jason Gillispie, Aussies' bowling attack looks much more weaker than the Indians - at least this is what i feel.

Anyhow so India now top the group with Australia bottom. Next match is Australia against New Zealand.

Chorey - Give the credit where it is due. If you are the best team in the world then you should be able to chase a target of 284 esp if you have got 132/0 in 25 overs.

Cricinfo summed it up very well for them :-

' For Australia, it was another sobering reminder that they remain fast-track champions, and slow-wicket chumps. '

Without taking the pride of winning (not that I can take it) from India I was pointing towards the fact that Aus attack is way less effective in the absence of McGrath, Brett Lee and Glispie (I bet I spelled the name wrong). It’s like India playing without Sachin, Ganguly, Laxman and Dravid. Do you think India will be able to beat NZ then?

As far as cricinfo’s comments are concerned, I’ll start considering its comments when it will write
“For India, it was another sobering reminder that they remain India-track champions, and Out-of-Asia-wicket chumps.”

^ that's nonsense. You're calling the current world cup runner up team "out of asia - chumps"? Where is South Africa?

I am not saying that at all. If you bother to follow last 3-4 posts you will come to know that i was just replying to cricinfo's comments which more wrongly labeling WORLD CUP WINNERS (yeah winners not runner up) as "slow wicket chumps" desite the fact that they won the world cup on these "slow-wickets" too

Best statement of the day! :k: :k:

No Lee, No McGrath, No Warne, No Gillessppie!
Must have been a piece of cake for Tendulkar and co.

Ofcourse I have faith. It is the best batting line up in the world. Australia happens to be a close second in batting and a league ahead in bowling when any two of those three show up.
[/QUOTE]

Yaar I don't want to ruin your fun, but Indian batting is no where close to Aussie batting.
Australian batting is a level ahead of all other batting teams

you got it quite wrong buster keaton

Spot on, Asifoo! You know your cricket dude!:)

As for the missing Aussie bowlers - hello, did someone notice the absence of Srinath, Nehra and Ganguly? The Aussies still have a better bowling attack than us presently, so lights or no lights they should have been able to chase 284. Anyway, well done India and a terrific start to the trianglular. The second Ind/Aus tie should seperate the men from the boys///can't wait.

wut exactly do u mean when u named ganguly with nehra and srinath in comparison to aussie bowling.. r u suggesting that ganguly is also india's front line bowler who is missing.... ha ha....................

^
whut I ment wuz that if Ganguly had been there the score might well have reached 310 or further. So contradict me, go on...

Poor Indian players… they were diving in the dew and were slipping while fielding..

Zaheer Khan made a good ground but dropped a catch bcuz he slipped..

One thing was very funny… Yuvraj Singh dived and missed the ball and Veeru came and also missed… Harbhajan was soooo pissed…
anyways

Rahul Dravid is a good captain and I think he also have some good qualities to lead the team:k:

Anyone knows why the Indians were wearing black thingy on their shirt:konfused:

for their captain:confused:

A former captain **Adhikari ** has died that’s why i think

Chorey - Do you think that Current Aussie batting lineup is strong enough to chase 284 esp against weak Indian bowling ?
