kya baat hain Indian team ki popularity ki!!!! jab jab haarte hai yahan par khushi ki lehar daud jaate hai! :)
Dravid is a poor Captain. First of all he can't stand upto the people who pushed for Bahutule's selection. Bahutule played as an all-rounder and took the place of a specialist batsman and a bowler.
Not to forget his pathetic captaincy. We want Ganguly Back in the team, even if he fails with the bat.
Full credit to Mcmillan and Styris for playing positive cricket. Great fighting spirit shown by these two.
Bank on India to make a tournament interesting...
Well Dileep is not very impressed with Kaif’s SR. I’ve been saying this all along - something is bothering Kaif. He wants to never get out while batting, thus he refuses to take risks.

Karina - 247 was a defendeble total on this pitch. Poor Captaincy by Dravid and selection of Sairaj Bahutule in the team cost us the match.
Yes Kaif played slow - but With Laxman, Dravid, Yuvraj falling on intervals didn't help the matters either. Just for the record - Kaif reached his half century in 81 Balls, the other day Damien Martyn scored a century and his first 50 came in 86 balls and second fifty in 34 balls and that was because of some valuable support/partnership from the other end. Trust me it's never easy to score runs when you have no support from the other end. Kaif's only mistake was that he didn't capitalize on it and got out - He should have stayed longer.
Laxman should be dropped from the team, so should be Bahutule. Bring Back Ganguly as Captain and And another batsman who could score some runs, we are fine with seven batsmen and 4 bowlers. Batting is our strength and we should not try to change that until we get good dependeble bowlers.
Looks like writer has personal scores to sattle with Kaif. When you are 136/4 (and that too Sachin, Dravid, Laxman, Yuvraj) then one batsman has to put the head down and try to play all 50 overs.
They lost the easiest game they cud win in the series…
sehwag was missing as a sixth bowler… i think he was needed at that time..
what abt sachin? he cud haf bowled his medium pace or atleast leggies.. he was bowling off spin… and Great work behind the wickets;)!
NewZealand is bak in the series:k:

Asif- I am not talking of this match, I am talking generally. Frankly if I had to select one out of the 2, Yuvi or Kaif, I would take Kaif because he is more dependable as a batsman, takes his singles intelligently and fields marginally better than Yuvi. Dileep has written a vitriolic comment but if you look at the figures you will agree that with some coaxing (perhaps) Kaif can better his averages and SR. I don't know if he can become another Azhar but he can definitely become a Jonty.
Coming to Laxman, frankly, what has Yuvraj done to merit selection for the next match? Can you think of a more horrendous shot than the one he played today at that jucture? Think carefully and then tell me why should poor Lax get the axe. Anyway, Bahutule can only go so far. He's pally with Ronnie Gavaskar and so Dalmiya and Gavaskar are always pushing those 2 losers.

Well Sad but it does seem that the batsman has singled out Kaif and he is comparing the strike rates of Laxman with Kaif while forgetting that Laxman batting is one of the main reason why India lost last two games. This guy is a LAXMAN LOVER (perhaps from his home down as well) and still mad at Laxman's ommision from the World Cup Squad.
For the umpteenth time - Laxman is a TEST batsman, he doesn't deserve a place in the ODI team.

Karina - You can't compare Laxman with Yuvraj. Laxman normally comes at 1 down which is normally reserved for the most solid batsmen of your team who can pull you out of trouble or give stability to the innings, In India's case it is Dravid's Slot. Laxman has been demanding that slot forever and now that he has been given that slot, he should bat with a lot more responsibility. 20s and 30s are not good enough for the No. 3 batsman. In that case Laxman should give up that slot and come at Yuvraj/Kaif's slot.
Here are few reason's why Laxman shouldn't be included in the ODI team.
- He fails to rotate the strike.
- He is too lazy to use his footwork
- He keeps slashing at the Offstump deliveries
- His running between the wicket is poor and prone to runouts
- He wastes too many balls
- He is not a good fielder
- He can't score fast and last but not the least :-
- He has a major problem of getting over 30-35 run mark, Check his record and find out for yourself.
If you want to Compare Laxman, Compare him with Dravid/Ponting etc and see how he fares.
OTOH - Yes Yuvraj played a poor shot, but first of all he doesn't come at no. 3 and technically isn't as sound as Laxman still look at his batting he plays very important role of scoring fast and at crucial moments and has been very successfull in doing that. Plus he is a good fielder. You can compare Yuvraj to any other no. 5-6 order batsman in India or world and he isn't that bad.
Yeah, NO 3 should always be reserved for the most solid batsman, in the absence of Ganguly, Dravid is the best choice.
Someone who takes time to settle and lets the other guys play around him and keeps wicket intact.
Ok Asif, you have a point of Lax being only a test batsman. I was never for his selection for one dayers, but this is his reward for doing well in tests I suppose. Indian cricket works that way. I guess the media is also very pro-Laxman, portraying him as a suffering soul who doesnt get his due. However, the only reason I would keep him on is the upcoming Aussie tour. Laxman has done well there and might play a crucial (I'm stretching the word) role, so let him get practice.
Neeways the team for next time hopefully reads-
Shewag
Sachin
Dravid
VVS (unless he gets dropped which I doubt will happen, and he's still better than scowly Badani)
Ganguly
Kaif
Yuvraj
Harbajan
Kumble
Zaheer
Nehra
Sounds pretty good to me. :)
If Ganguly is available then he must come in #3.
followed by kaif, Dravid, Yuvraj.
I think the lineup India played in the WC was the best combonition they had,
given that laxaman is a burden for the team, dont u guys think that jadeja could be a valuable asset... i guess he has already been selected for bombay after the ban was lifted and also scored some runs...
any thoughts and updates abt this especially by indian friends
Pakistan should take note of it and complain to the ICC. But wait a second if we go ahead with it, the New Zealanders might get upset and cancel the tour to Pakistan. Quandary.
I think Yuvraj Singh will be dropped bcuz Badani did a better job then him...
Oh c'mon ppl ..... India lost to NZ so what's wrong about it or the current indian side ..... get on with the game ..... Laxman in or not who cares ..... do u really think it would've mattered what laxman does if Tendi had scored some 70 - 80 odd runs ..... for sure not ..... it's like "when they (IND) win they r god like" and if they fail to win "then single out some players and dump them into indian ocean" attitude of the Indian media ..... for sure Tendi can't garauntee to score every time he play but yesterday it wasn't the small total but a bowling display one would like to forget + the captaincy ....
Afterall what do u ppl think is NZ doing in India ??? kya woh sabzi bechnay aay hain ????
Bashing the whole side or some players won't turn the result on it's head ..... but who to tell that to the bashing-elite
well said:k:..
the NZ are also here to play not to loose…
NZ might lose the series but they are definitely not loose. ![]()
^
hahahah
anyhow - poor LBW decision of Tendulkar - stupid local umpire whatever name he goes by - how come there is a LBW when the ball hits the pad - and goes down the leg-side? ![]()
Nehra was fit before the game - and still didn’t play huh? Muhammad Kaif looked solid to me but the wickets kept falling from the other end didn’t help the matters - i think Kaif is good to play at no. 3
with this win - New Zealand are back into the tournament…hmmmm.. not entirely tho - they still need to win last two games to qualify for Final match - funny enough Scott Stylis was named Man of the Match - and fined the match fee just today - Craig McMillian - after some stupid games - had a good game - does that mean New Zealand can rely on him? ![]()
Australia have secured their place in the Final already ![]()
