^ no. I’m asking because I might have to travel in the future with an infant.
Do the planes have a changing table for babies? Ill be travelling with a seven months old by turkish airline. Any one with experience with turkish?
Re: Travelling with a nine month old in a long haul flight
all planes have changing tables.
when u r travelling alone with infant and u gotta go to the loo… u ask member of ghe crew to stay with baby…if they are all bz… u take baby with u. its a balancing acf. but doable. been there, done that.
emirates is an A class airline to travel alone with kids… amazing. ive travelled withmy 2 kids in every stage of infancy and its been superb every time.
Re: Travelling with a nine month old in a long haul flight
pre made formula was useless for me cuz my kids drink warm milk… so i just take pre measured formula powder. i ask for hot water an plain water fro the attendants and then just mix to the right temperature.
if your kid caneat grownup food..emirates child meal will be no issue and u can relax food wize cuzthey give snack boxas well as a meal …
if your kid is picky and not so great with all solids …like my elder son… then make food he eats easily with you. Iusuallytake pasta, couscous or tortilla tolls with hot dogs etc… sandwiches.
They don’t spoil and are easy to eat.
Oh and restaurants at the Dubai airport will happily warm up the baby stuff for u If u ask.

Hi CB! Think most points have been covered by everyone above.
I would definitely recommend buying your own lightweight stroller for the journey and leave your expensive travel system here. I bought a stroller from mamas and papas for about £55 (it was on offer and lay complete flat if needed when baby was sleeping), makes it easier for passport control etc also as someone mentioned you can keep it right up to the gate before boarding- trust me you need and baby need it!!! Not sure about strollers in Dubai- have heard emirates do them but all my friends who have travelled with emirates via Dubai have never managed to get one there as they are all ‘out’.
If you do get a stroller keep a spare luggage strap to wrap tightly round it before you give it in to the airline staff- the little catch that keeps the pram closed is a little flimsy and doesn’t always stay closed when the stroller is being roughly handled!! i was given this advice by a friend and it proved very good seeing the state of some other people prams at the other end!!
Make the journey easier for yourself honestly buy a lightweight pram.
As already mentioned buy pre-prepared formula if you can for the journey and also extra for your trip. i called ahead to Boots in manchester airport and had them put 2 outers aside for me. (that way it didn’t count towards my weight allowance as I bought it once inside!! but it was heavy - i had hubby carry it! I’d bought some from home just incase i couldn’t get it inside.
I also bought a tomme tippee bottle warmer- this was absolutely fab for the journey and just going out and about.
Travel Bottle and Food Warmer | tommee tippee
Generally airlines are pretty good about heating up milk or giving boiled water, so that should be ok.
Definitely take more wipes and nappies than you would assume ( i took about 20 nappies and 2 pack of wipes in my hand luggage). i had about 4 outfits for baby as well as 3 sleepsuits for baby and an outfit for me.
I changed baby into a sleepsuit just before getting onto the plane.
no earplugs for babies- just give him a drink on takeoff and landing- that should help. my little one wasn’t bothered at all.
If possible try and book a bassinet esp for a long haul flight.
Sorry for waffling!!
