Travelling to Pakistan with 11 months old

Re: Travelling to Pakistan with 11 months old

bottled water u can get from there too.
just make sure u get all milk products from here and not from there as China mai disaster huwa tha not so long ago with baby products containing milk (in all types, like liquid ya powder and so on). take snacks like baby biscuits and crackers too. and Pak and China have similar products and in Pak kaafee products (esp baby products) come from China.
mosquito creme, baby powder, nappy rash creme, ask ur chemist for drops that are made outta water and salt for preventing dehydration (may Allah protect your baby from all harm, Amin).
Baqee i would recommend you kai Duas parho even from now on untill u get back even. My prayers are with you. May you enjoy a safe and healthy trip with your family and may Allah protect your baby and keep her safe and sound, Amin.
Oh yes one last advise before i post this message: make sure u do not put ur baby in a push chair when going out, all the fumes may be breathed in like that and that is so dangerous. so carry her when u go out and keep her close to you at all times.
Good luck and have fun :)

FAsanti.

Re: Travelling to Pakistan with 11 months old

or you can just not worry about these little thing, and think of how high her immunity will be from eating and drinking the ridiculous amount of germs that are all over pak.....really its good to build your immunity and there's no better place to do that than in pak!

i came back in August:)trust me u ll find everything from ALFATeh:D

i am shocked to hear this .after all thats our country ,even its full of **** now adays ,but still thats our ID .we should respect that.pakistan it self is not bad.its the PEOPLE who make it bad.

Re: Travelling to Pakistan with 11 months old

Roman, ur bubz will prob be on solids now too. So just becareful with the solids there... make sure noone gives her anything from outside. MY neice went there when she was about 18 months, and she was sick for most of the time there (only cus she was eating junk from outside).

b/w congrats! :)

Thanks all!

Someone in Pakistan mentioned Qarshi water which apparently comes from Abbotabad. Has anyone here had any experience using that for infants? Is it better than Nestle?

Thanks again!

Re: Travelling to Pakistan with 11 months old

phaleeze stick wid nestle:smack: loogon kai mashwaray uder kaam hi manana.other bottled water will def make u ill.if u dont believe it then do try them:D

Re: Travelling to Pakistan with 11 months old

I'd not be so quick to diss Pakistan as being full of germs and being afraid of the water...not after I found out that my little son had a LONG term infection of an intestinal parasite called Giardia. And he never went there, he was in USA from birth onward.

Best to be vigilant no matter WHERE you go and never assume that everything is ok, never take a docs WORD for anything. If theres something wrong with your little one, ask for TESTS and PROOF.

Re: Travelling to Pakistan with 11 months old

Dont carry the water from here. We have faced the same problem but decided to buy Nestle water from some good reputed shops in Pakistan (such as Agahas and some other departmental stores) and it went fine for us.

I dont know which city are u going to but if you are going to some remote location, I am sure you will still land to some large city like Karachi, Lahore, Isb etc. Buy the water from there while on your way.

Dont forget to take

  • Infant Tylenol
  • Mylicon Drops
  • Formula
  • Some jars of baby food
  • Nasal Aspirator
  • Baby grooming kit (nail cutter etc)
  • few small (travel pack) of wet wipes

Dont take too much juice, baby food jars and finger food. All this is available in almost all big cities. It will be an overkill. We did that in our first trip with first baby but regret it!

Happy journey !

thanks all for your replies. I forgot to mention that it's a direct flight from US to Qatar for over 12 hours. Any tips etc for such long flight for the baby? We are not sure if we'll get the basinet seat but we'll definitely try.

Thanks.

Get friendly with your neighbors, you might need their help :D

The most problematic could be take-off or landing (air pressure change), not sure if you have taken her to any flight before, for that you can use pacifier/bottle-nipple so she remains busy suckling on it.

Re: Travelling to Pakistan with 11 months old

Hello ladies.im also travelling with my 4 mon old baby direct flight from canada to lahore thuru pia I want some help n suggestions? Firstly, is it better for me to take baby carrier or an umbrella stroller? Also if anyone knows dat pak has enfamil formula ? Also are dere any tips during the flight

Re: Travelling to Pakistan with 11 months old

I would suggest you take your baby formula with you. Isn’t umbrella stroller for toddler. Give your baby a bottle or pacifier during take off and landing. Make sure you have plenty of wipes, some paper towel, extra change of clothes for yourself and baby, extra milk bottles, rattles/toys for the fight time.

Re: Travelling to Pakistan with 11 months old

major overkill thinking of taking water with u. do u seriously believe that kids in pakistan are living without water? sometimes these sort of ideas can seem insulting to those of us in pakistan

Why to take baby food along i mean isnt it a good idea to prepare food yourself there? Or just the table food. I have seen my mother making baby food everyday for my siblings. I am asking bcz ill be also taking my baby soon when she is 7months n on solids. What is the difference btween babies born in pk or smwhere else?

Re: Travelling to Pakistan with 11 months old

We are going to Pakistan next month with our 13 month old. I am only taking diapers and wipes that we would need during the travel time or for the first day. Rest, we will buy diapers, wipes, bottle water over there. My son is eating table food, I never fed him gerbers or any other store bought jar food, so I won’t be taking any food items. We will just feed him whatever is cooked at home. I will be taking his first aid medicines, grooming kit, diaper rash cream, travel size shamphoo and moisturizer, nasal drops and the bulb, his clothes, shoes and socks and couple towels. We will be in rawalpindi/islamabad, so hopefully we won’t have any issues. What I have gathered from various threads on GS is “pampers” in Pakistan are pretty decent. They leak after 3 hours but I do try changing my son every 2-3 hours.

For our travel, I am keeping his books, teethers/rattles, 3-5 pairs of clothes, diapers, wipes, 2 sippy cups for water, bottles for milk, 1 blanket, and our tablet. I am debating on his pillow. Oh and we will be getting an umbrella stroller for the travel.

I am very anxious but I hope things will go well. inshahAllah.

Re: Travelling to Pakistan with 11 months old

Pakistan does have aptamil, not enfamil. Enfamil is only in USA I think. Aptamil is another name for it and it is the same thing, different name.

Your baby is just four months old. You need to have him used to a pacifier and make him suck that or his bottle during takeoff and when landing. It will be a smooth flight cos he will sleep mostly inshallah. U will need around ten diapers with you, two packs of wetwipes in two different easily accessible places, take the carseat with you so that you can use it in pakistan as well. Your husband should carry it for you or you can get someone else to carry. Keep extra clothes for yourself and for the baby. Keep four outfits for baby, one for yourself. Dress him lightly but keep his baby blanket on hand. MAKE SURE HE IS SWADDLED. it will help him sleep longer.

That’s it for now! Take along two three boxes of formula. When packing you can also put formula in ziplock bags to save space!!! No need to take tins or boxes along!

Re: Travelling to Pakistan with 11 months old

Make who ill??? my baby has had bottled water of nestle, gourmet and aquafina and filtered basic boiled water too and is fine alhamdolillah!!! Don’t spread the hate!

Re: Travelling to Pakistan with 11 months old

THIS is true. Just be aware that baby should not eat from outside. No jalebis, samosas, fried sweetmeats and whatnot since this stuff is made in reused oil from god knows how long ago and how many times it was reused, or lies around in open air to flies and humans alike, therefore makes even adults ill.
