^ the word being discussed here is "aal" (not ahl-e-bayt as u r thinking)....
anyway if u read this verse, u will find that those people who r mentioned as followers of ibrahim (as) r also mentioned and if u look up the tafseer u might find more....
Quran 3:68 Lo! those of mankind who have the best claim to Abraham are **those who followed him*, and this Prophet and those who believe (with him); and Allah is the Protecting Guardian of the believers. *
The Sura is called Al-e-Imran meaning

YUSUFALI: Allah did choose Adam and Noah, the family of Abraham, and the family of 'Imran above all people,-
PICKTHAL: Lo! Allah preferred Adam and Noah and the Family of Abraham and the Family of 'Imran above (all His) creatures.
SHAKIR: Surely Allah chose Adam and Nuh and the descendants of Ibrahim and the descendants of Imran above the nations.
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱصْطَفَىٰٓ ءَادَمَ وَنُوحًۭا وَءَالَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَءَالَ عِمْرَٰنَ عَلَى ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ ﴿٣٣﴾
