Have you been reading the latest round of articles at CricInfo that are on the subject of over-rates in test matches? A couple of them were written this past week, including one today, mostly in the blogs. They put across some good information to the readers. In my own opinion, having a green top for a test match (with slow over-rates) will further slow the over-rate down, but cricket will be enjoyable due to the movement and the bounce. It is a very reasonable idea to let some grass on the pitch. Why offer bowlers a graveyard for 90 overs (which are hardly fulfilled in a day). I am not sure how antagonists, someone who wants to see ICC enforce a rule to add 20-30 runs to the batting team if over-rates are not fulfilled on a per hour basis, will view the idea of having a green top for test matches. It will certainly get the audience coming to see the game.
