We drove all the way to Kasghar, China back in the day, through the silk route, passing the Khanjrab Pass and the fairy meadows. That place was not just the rooftop of the world but it was quite simply heaven on earth. The yaks, the strawberries, the trees, and the gushing Indus! I cant forget the Chinese soldiers greeting us in Urdu at Khanjrab and offering us their coats!! Its ironic, some of the poorest people living in Kasghar are infact the most hospitable and generous people you will ever find in a lifetime!
