At the risk of agreeing with Nadia, this list is very subjective.

I think that list is a very good one especially considering it is from a very independent thinking Tabloid that happens to be in the Uk. :)
So chaltahai if you prefer a yankee list by all means post your own thread :-P
NaikLarki, most of us have never even heard of these books let alone read them. I can’t even pronounce half of their titles. I would venture to guess that there must be dozens and dozens of books from African writers, alone, that are not credited in this List… it’s highly subjective. I only posted it as a reference of sorts. You’ll notice that out of such a long List, only about 8 or 9 are female authors. Not only subjective, but sexist.
Sadi, hmm you enjoyed P&P’s book version; have you viewed the A&E/BBC version of the novel? Absolutely superb; Colin Firth (of Bridget Jones’ Diary) is Mr. Darcy.
