Claims include using intelligence to justify a policy which was already settled rather than using the intelligence to form the policy.
After having taken control in Iraq no evidence has been found of weapons of mass destruction and the justification given for the war now by Tony Blair is the freedom of the Iraqi people

16th June, 2006 : The son of the last Italian king, Prince Victor Emmanuel, was arrested on charges of corruption and recruiting prostitutes for a casino. Victor Emmanuel's return to Italy in 2003 marked the end of the fifty-six years of exile that the former royal family faced. Victor Emmanuel denied the charges and his family maintained his innocence, claiming the the arrested was a publicity stunt by the police.

16th June, 2007 : Abductors freed ten Indian nationals that had been held hostage for two weeks. The release came a few days after a former militia leader was released on bail, and a week after several other hostages were set free.

16th June, 2012 : China has launched its latest space mission that would include the country's first woman astronaut. Liu Yang, a 33 year old military pilot, was a part of the crew aboard the Shenzou-9 capsule that would spend a week at the Tiangong space lab to test systems and conduct experiments

18th June 1923 : The First Checker Cab is produced by the Checker Cab Manufacturing Company, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. By 1925 the Checker Cab Company is the largest manufacturer of Cabs in the country . In 1956 Checker made a passenger vehicle for the first time the Chequer Marathon but never really took off

18th June 1948 : Columbia Records publicly unveiled its new long-playing phonograph record, the 33 1/3, in New York City. Today, Columbia Records is the oldest record brand in the industry, dating back to 1888 when sound was recorded on black cylinders rather than albums, and begin mass production.

18th June 1965 : B52 Bombers are used to fly-bomb a Viet Cong concentration in a heavily forested area of Binh Duong Province northwest of Saigon. Releasing bombs from 30,000 feet, the B-52s could neither be seen nor heard from the ground as they inflicted awesome damage .

18th June 1976 : Rioting in South Africa spreads throughout the country. At least 58 people were reported dead and 788 injured due to the spread of violence. The prime minister of the nation, John Vorster, recognized that the violence was an effort to cause panic and create a division within the black and white communities in the nation. Vorster also stated that law and order within the nation were important to maintain.

18th June, 2007 : The United Kingdom based company, Tullow, announced the discovery of a large amount of oil reserves off the shores of Ghana. The estimated 600 million barrels worth of oil was expected to be a great boost to the economy in Ghana, the country could wait up to seven years before the oil would start to flow.
